Research On Influence Factors And Promotion Strategy Of Mechanization For Hillside Orchards In Meizhou

Fruit is a major economic crop with large planting area and huge production in Meizhou Guangdong.There are many hillside orchards in Meizhou because many fruit trees there are mainly planted on hillside.Fruits from these orchards grow well and taste good because of the special geographical conditions there.Thus,fruit planting has made great contributions to Meizhou in terms of increasing farmers’ income,developing rural area and improving regional economic.However,planting fruit,especially on hilly land,is much different with planting other crops as it demands of large amount of labor,high labor intensity and different response to seasonal needs.With the opening and reforming for decades,thousands of agricultural labor force from all over the country to Pearl River Delta.Moreover,with rising of labor costs and production costs,labor shortage and land problem restrict the development of hillside orchards in Meizhou.Hence,Meizhou has developed mechanization for hillside orchards actively in order to solve this problem effectively.This paper study relevant literature of mechanization for hillside orchards,do research of key factors of development of mechanization for hillside orchards and explore methods in all consideration.Main results as below:1)This paper teases out a profile of factors Mechanization for hillside orchards in Meizhou from a qualitative and quantitative perspective by two approaches-SWOT Analysis and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP).Then sort out from these factors into four sets-the strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats and evaluate them with Analytic Hierarchy Process.After calculating,the final result point to the best approach for developing mechanization for hillside orchards in Meizhou is strengthsthreats strategic fit.2)This paper combines the SWOT analysis method and AHP analytic hierarchy process,first,list from the four factors of perspective of qualitative influence Meizhou mountain fruit production mechanization development strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats,and finally formed up a SWOT analysis matrix for the following analysis.3)This paper provides a comprehensive and rational framework for analyzing Mechanization for hillside orchards in Meizhou.A team of experts with profound theoretical basis and outstanding working experience is assembled for this research.The AHP converts these evaluations to numerical values that can be processed and compared over the entire range of the problem.A numerical weight or priority is derived for each element of the hierarchy,allowing diverse and often incommensurable elements to be compared to one another in a rational and consistent way.4)This paper bases on the results of the study mentioned above,application of machinery and equipment as well as the specific needs of hillside orchards farmers on machinery and equipment in local area helps decision makers in Meizhou find one that best suits their goal and their understanding of the problem.The SWOT+AHP comprehensive analysis model established in this paper can also provide references for the analysis of factors of mechanization development in other fields and the study of promotion strategies.
