As a core driving force in the industrial manufacturing field,laser technology can cover almost all areas of life.Laser technology is active in such fields as automobile manufacturing,power batteries,mobile phone manufacturing,aerospace,medical equipment,and defense military.Founded in 2000,Company L focuses on the laser field.In the rapidly developing industry environment,Company L has rapidly emerged in the industry with its high-end technical strength and production capacity.After nearly 20 years of development,company L has become one of the most important suppliers in the laser industry.In 2017,company L faced a decline in market share.Based on the company’s development trend,company L will formulate long-term strategic goals in 2018.It expects to achieve sales of 600 million RMB in 2023 in five years,becoming the most valuable device and service provider in the global laser field.This article uses the literature research method,comparative research method,and case study method.Based on Porter’s competitive strategy theory,and uses the five-force model analysis method,PEST method,Value chain analysis method,and SWOT analysis method to implement a system for the Chinese laser industry.It includes macro-environmental analysis,analysis of basic economic characteristics of the industry,analysis of industry environment,and analysis of industry competition conditions.Then identified the key factors of industry success,and found that company L has a relatively large advantage,but at the same time it also faces opportunities and threats..Through the above research,this paper concludes that company L is in a rapidly changing competitive environment and should adopt a differentiated competition strategy.Develop a differentiated competitive strategy that takes itself as the core,and actively respond to possible risks.So establish a sustainable competitive advantage in a competitive environment and realize the company’s long-term development strategic goals.This thesis takes company L as the research object,analyzes the practical application of differentiated competition strategy,and the research results have positive reference significance for other companies in the domestic laser industry as well as other companies with similar development models.
