Research On The Status Quo And Countermeasures Of Thailand-China Trade Under The "One Belt, One Road" Initiative

In the backdrop of economic globalization and the multi-sectoral development of the world,the "Belt and Road"(BNR)strategy emerged.This strategy ensures the development of China with the development of the world through providing a conducive environment to break trade barriers,promoting the sustainable economic development of all countries and optimizing the allocation of market resources.The proposed strategy has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges for the question of development of all countries,especially,for those eager to join to this mega project.In the recent times,BNR has drawn the attention of scholars from all over the world and this has become the thrust sector of research in the field of social science.At present,there are many foreign studies on the strategy of “One Belt One Road” that related to trade and development in the countries along the route.However,there are few studies prevails on the trade cooperation and development between China and Thailand,under the domestic strategic framework of "One Belt One Road".Therefore,this paper intends to analyze and study the current situation and countermeasures of trade between Thailand and China in the context of "One Belt One Road" and fill the gap in the study of trade development.The core aim of this study is to provide a good understanding of BNR initiatives and propose some useful recommendations that might promote trade and development cooperation between two countries.This article starts with a brief overview of the "Belt and Road" strategy and analyzes the potential opportunities and threats in the preview of this initiative.Secondly,it introduces the current situation of trade between Thailand and China in detail,separate from the scale of trade,the structure of trade and the economic benefits,respectively.It identifies the possible existing problems and analyzes the competitive status quo of Thailand-China trade by using the revealed comparative advantage index.Also,it uses the intra-industry trade index to analyze the status quo of complementation between Thailand and China.Finally,based on the results of the research and analysis,this paper puts forward some usefulsuggestions for promoting trade and cooperation between Thailand and China in the context of "One Belt One Road".
