Research On The Impact Of Thailand’s Imports Of Intermediate Goods On The Innovation Of Thailand Enterprises

Although different scholars have different opinions on the influence factors of economic growth,but the academic basic agreed to a country’s ability to innovate on the country’s economic growth plays an important role,how to improve the innovation ability of Thailand,in ways that improve total factor productivity to promote the country’s economic growth is the Thailand academia and government issues are of the utmost importance.The Thai government’s devotion to science and technology innovation are of the utmost importance in recent years,in recent years,Thailand actively introduced a lot of relevant national science and technology development strategy,planning and policy,including:in 2008 put forward the "science and technology innovation and basic law,the law clearly the direction of the national science and technology innovation and development,including human resources development,science and technology innovation of scientific research personnel career development;National science and technology strategic plan 2004-2012,and national science and technology and innovation plan 2012-2021.The plan was developed and released by the national office of science and technology innovation(STI),with the theme of green innovation.The plan argues that asean regional integration,social and demographic change,energy and environmental security,technological and innovation trends will be the four main drivers of future balanced sustainable economic growth and quality society in Thailand.A large number of examples show that the Thai government attaches increasing importance to national innovation strategy.And Thailand in recent years with China imports a large number of intermediates,according to the traditional trade theory,import products trade can produce certain positive role on its innovation ability,the research purpose of this paper is mainly to use quantitative method to verify,at present Thailand enterprises from China to import a large number of products,as well as the influence of enterprise innovation ability in Thailand have how much effect.Is Thailand’s import of intermediate goods from China conducive to its technological innovation?To study this issue,on the one hand,is conducive to seeking appropriate development channels and channels for Thailand’s technological progress and economic growth.On the other hand,it can provide a new reference for the transformation of Thai trade development mode and its optimization and upgrading.This paper studies the theoretical significance lies in the fact that both the influence on products’ import innovative research stay at the macro and micro level,this paper will comb products imported from the microscopic view of the influence of enterprise technology innovation,to provide both the study of intermediate goods imported beneficial supplement,so as to enrich the theory of international trade system.Study method,this paper consider the needs of the research purpose and the availability of data,using the UN to Thailand trade survey data,the simple regression analysis using the panel data model,and considering the microcosmic enterprise heterogeneity characteristics for further study,on the basis of the research results indicate that:When Thailand import products from China,Thailand local enterprises to bring competition pressure,with a brand,have ISO certification and export business of enterprises,when facing the pressure from foreign competition,the enterprise innovation ability was strengthened,and for those who do not have the characteristics of the enterprise,the enterprise innovation ability of the varying degrees of decline.At the same time,this paper also finds that when Thailand imports intermediate products from China,the innovation ability of those companies close to the technological frontier is improved,while that of those companies with backward technologies is further weakened.The innovation of this paper mainly lies in the innovation of research Angle.Specifically,the present study on the impact of international trade on the innovation ability,mostly from the macro level,there are few articles involve the micro level,this paper adopts the enterprise heterogeneity theory after give full consideration to the various characteristics of the enterprise,gives the effect of Chinese imports from the microscopic view,the research method has certain innovation.
