A Study On Residents' Sense Of Place In Tourist Islands

Island tourism flourishes,as a unique human settlement pattern,island villages are the main manifestation of island population living places.Tourism islands are an important part of island tourism and an important way to revitalize rural economic development.Island tourism is booming.Tourist islands are an important part of island rural tourism and an important way to revitalize rural economic development.Based on the research of relevant scholars,this paper analyzes the unique location advantages of island rural tourism destinations,and combines the development status of tourism island rural tourism,taking Changshan Islands as an example,to study the sense of place for tourism island islanders,so as to provide reference and enlightenment for the construction of tourism island.Under the guidance of local theory,push-pull theory,and sustainable development theory,the methods of literature analysis,qualitative comparative analysis,questionnaire survey and interview method are used to draw four conclusions: Measurement for sense of place based on population mobility willingness and main influencing factors for sense of place;Characteristics of population movement of Changshan islanders;The characteristics of the residents' sense of place in changshan islands.The specific conclusions are as follows:(1)Comprehensive factors affect the sense of place about island residents.The dual role of tourism revenue and cost is the psychological basis on the sense of place and population mobility behavior decision-making.Life satisfaction is the premise foundation of residents' sense of place and has a positive correlation with it.The natural environment is a sufficient and non-essential factor for residents' sense of place.Cultural environment is the internal driving force to foster a sense of place.Community integration is an important part of the sense of place.(2)Taking the willingness to move population as the starting point,by constructing the push-pull theory model and the sense of place index system,It is concluded that the relationship between the sense of locality and the willingness of population flow is that the sense of locality will slow down the population flow,increase the island's adhesion,and provide a human foundation for the construction of tourism-type islands.(3)By analyzing the recorded interviews,we can see that the residents of Changshan Islands are mainly characterized by strong local dependence.Public infrastructure has a great influence on sense of place.The elderly in the islanders have a strong sense of place.The movement of tourism practitioners shows seasonal regularity.(4)Based on the questionnaire data,from the three dimensions of local identity,local dependence and local attachment,the authors compare the influencing factors of Dachangshan Island,Wangjiadao and Shicheng Island.It is concluded that there are regional differences in the sense of locality among residents of Changshan Island,and the sense of place among residents of Dachangshan Island is relatively strong.The study of the sense of place is conducive to the construction of regional culture,the promotion of local soft power,the strengthening of the local identity of the island,and the formation of local attachment to the island.
