Agglomeration Economy And The Development Of Commercial Towns In Shanxiin The Qing Dynasty

In the past studies on agglomeration economy and urban development,scholars mostly pay attention to the current urban development,and most of them consider it from the perspective of urbanization.In addition,most of the research methods are based on econometric analysis,and there are few analyses from the theoretical point of view.In this paper,from the perspective of absorbing the research of predecessors,from the perspective of agglomeration economy,this paper selects the commercial towns in Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty for research,and analyzes the commercial towns in Shanxi from the point of population,industry and capital.The Qing Dynasty was a prosperous period of economic development in Shanxi.At that time,the trade in Shanxi was prosperous,and the Shanxi merchants developed further.There were four major economic zones,namely,central Shanxi,southwestern Shanxi,Shangdang Basin,and northwestern Shanxi.This thesis combines the principles of agglomeration economics to study the development and changes of population,industry,capital and city in Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty,and provides reference for the current development of Shanxi city.This paper first reviews the literature on agglomeration economies and sorts out the agglomeration theory.Then it analyzes the economic foundation of Shanxi,and analyzes the agriculture,population,distribution and industry in Shanxi.It points out that the isthmus in Shanxi is not ideal,and the agricultural economy is not self-sufficient.However,Shanxi's industrial development has great advantages,such as silk and iron in the Zhangze area;Pingyao and Jixian ticketing industry;the salt in the southeast of Shanxi;and the Sino-Mongolian trade in Jinbei.Then in the third chapter,this paper analyzes the population agglomeration and industrial agglomeration in Shanxi,and points out that on the basis of population agglomeration and industrial agglomeration in Shanxi,there are a large number of businessmen and firms with rich enemies in Shanxi,such as Dashengkui The trade amount is 1000 two silver.As a result,capital accumulation has formed in Shanxi.This is in line with the development of population agglomeration,industrial agglomeration,and capital agglomeration in Shanxi.In the Qing Dynasty,a large number of urban agglomerations centered on economic development appeared.For example,the urban agglomeration centered on Yuncheng in Jinnan;the urban agglomeration centered on Taiyuan in Jinzhong;the urban agglomeration centered on Datong in Jinbei;and the urban agglomeration centered on Takizawa in southeastern Shanxi.And analyze the impact of agglomeration on Shanxi's economy,mainly from three aspects:(1)the promotion of industrial agglomeration;(2)the diffusion effect of Shanxi urban agglomeration in the Qing Dynasty;and(3)the influence of agglomeration effect on Shanxi's economy in the Qing Dynasty.In terms of evidence,Yuncheng was chosen as the research object.Yuncheng was built with salt and flourished with salt.The study of Yuncheng can grasp the development of its salt industry and then explore the development path of Yuncheng city.The development of Yuncheng Salt Industry has gathered a large number of people.With the large population gathering,the rapid development of the salt industry has led to the rapid development of Yuncheng's industry and the formation of industrial agglomeration and capital accumulation.With the population concentration of Yuncheng,industrial agglomeration,and capital accumulation,the city scale of Yuncheng City has been expanded,and the Yuncheng City has gradually developed into the economic center of Jinnan,which in turn has promoted the development of Zhoucheng City and formed the city centered on the city,including Jiezhou.Urban agglomerations such as Puzhou and Anzhen.This paper uses the theory of agglomeration economy to study the commercial towns in Shanxi in the Qing Dynasty.Through the study of the population,industry,capital and towns in Shanxi,the development of Shanxi's urban development in the Qing Dynasty is understood,which provides a reference for the construction of contemporary Shanxi towns.It enriches the current Shanxi business research and makes this article theoretically innovative.
