As an important economic area in Qing Dynasty,Anhui acted animportant role in national economy. The development of agricultural economy notonly reflected the Anhui’s agricultural production and farmers’ living standards, alsogot a glimpse of the whole features of agricultural economy in Qing Dynasty. Thispaper aims to research the north and south economic development of Anhui in QingDynasty, analyze the differences of north-south in agricultural economy.and providesome historical reference for the sustainable development of Anhui’s agriculture andeconomy. The structure of this paper is: Introduction, Text and Conclusion.The Introduction part briefly introduces the cause of selecting title, reviews thecurrent research, and distinguishes the correlative concept which is involved.The opening chapter compares the difference of north-south conditions that isagricultural production from the natural geography and social economy in Qingdynasty. By the comparative analysis, it found that the main cause of agriculturedevelopment unbalanced is affected by the producing condition in north and south.The second chapter compares the difference of crops planter structure from the foodcrops which is based on rice-wheat and the cash crop which is based on cotton-tea.It’s found Anhui formed the two different patterns of agricultural production whichwere “Southern Rice and Northern Wheat” under the condition of natural andsocial-economic in Qing dynasty. The third chapter compare and analysis agriculturaltrade from the types, the markets of agricultural trade and status in agriculturaleconomy, It’s also show trade imbalances in south and north of Anhui with agriculturebased on grain production in Qing dynasty.Above all, we can clearly find that theproblem of the imbalance between the north and south development in the agriculturaleconomy of Anhui during the Qing Dynasty, which still exists today.The last part is a short summary and indicate that the some problems ofagricultural economy development of Anhui in Qing period. I hope this paper whichcan provide some reference for agricultural economy of Anhui and the wholeeconomic development today.
