Study On Consumption Structure Of Urban Residents In Shanxi Province

Since the reform and opening up 40 years ago,the consumption level of urban residents in Shanxi Province has undergone tremendous changes,the consumption structure is also gradually optimized.The consumption of clothing,food and housing of residents has been basically satisfied,and the consumption of residents has gradually changed from survival consumption to development consumption and enjoyment consumption.However,compared with the average level of urban residents in China,Shanxi urban residents still have a big gap.The first part of this paper systematically elaborates the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on consumption structure;the second part explains the concepts related to consumption structure;the third part collects the data of the past 19 years,explains the consumption structure of Shanxi urban residents in detail,and analyses the problems and reasons of Shanxi urban residents' consumption structure;the fourth part establishes the AIDS model to study and analyze the changes in the consumption structure of urban residents in Shanxi Province,and summe up the characteristics of the changes in the consumption structure of residents;the fifth part respectively studies the impact of the total income level on the consumption structure and the impact of different sources of income on the consumption structure;the sixth part draws relevant conclusions based on the empirical analysis of the article,and puts forward relevant policy recommendations.From the model analysis,the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)From the change of each consumption expenditure,the proportion of living consumption expenditure in total consumption expenditure of Shanxi urban residents shows a downward trend over time,while the proportion of developing consumption expenditure and enjoying consumption expenditure in total consumption expenditure shows an upward trend.(2)The consumption structure of Shanxi urban residents has the following problems: although the proportion of subsistence consumption has been declining continuously,its proportion is still more than half,occupying the development of development and enjoyment consumption materials,and the consumption structure still needs to be optimized;there is a big gap between the consumption level and the national average level and the same economic development areas in central China;various food safety problems occur frequently.It makes theconsumption environment worse;Shanxi urban residents still have irrational consumption habits,which still need further improvement.(3)The analysis results of AIDS model show that with the continuous increase of actual consumption expenditure,the proportion of food,clothing and household equipment expenditure of Shanxi urban residents will decrease,while the proportion of consumption expenditure of housing,transportation,communication,medical care,culture,education and entertainment will increase,which shows that the consumption structure of Shanxi urban residents has started a transition from the level of survival consumption to the stage of development and enjoyable consumption.(4)By establishing VAR model to study the influence of income level on consumption structure,we know that the increase of income has a pulling effect on consumption,and its pulling effect is different for different consumption items.(5)The results of the study on the influence of different income types on consumption structure show that: operating income has a greater impact on survival consumption expenditure,property expenditure has an impact on other expenditures except food and clothing consumption expenditure,and transfer income has a particularly significant pulling effect on food consumption and medical consumption.Therefore,in order to optimize the consumption structure,we must first make the residents' wages and operating income stable,and on this basis,we must strive to increase property income.
