Research On Lean Six Sigma Application For Quality Management Optimization In Company Z

The business environment of the whole lighting industry is becoming worse with slowing economic growth in China.In order to gain advantages in fierce competition,the lighting company has to restructure the organization from scale economies to quality advantages.In the paper,we apply Lean Six Sigma theory to optimize the management of quality in Company Z.The main problems in quality control of Company Z are of large biases in the quality measurement system and a high rate of defectives on functions and appearances.Based on the theory of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC(definition,measurement,analysis,improvemet,and control),we use process analysis and Pareto method to detect key problem and deviation in quality management process of Company Z.We find the deep factors of problems,with brainstorm and FMEA method together,through analyzing the measuring system carefully.By controlling these factors in a linear regression model,we utilize the concepts of Lean Six Sigma to optimize productive flows and allocations,im plement 6S standardized management,and control key process statistically.Finally,we test the effectiveness of quality optimization with the Lean Six Sigma method quantitatively.We find that implementing Lean Six Sigma can reduce measuring system biases,shorten the time to produce standardized goods,stabilize process capacities,and reduce defective rates.Briefly,us:ing Lean Six Sigma can improve the overall quality of products as well as saving production costs of Company Z.The results of the paper can contribute another reference in applying Lean Six Sigma theory to optimize product quality in manufactures especially in lighting companies.
