The competition between enterprises is the competition between their business models.Only by innovation can enterprises solve the problems faced by enterprises more efficiently.The core way of innovation for an enterprise is business model innovation.In recent years,many enterprises have successfully achieved business model innovation through mergers and acquisitions(M&A).However,there is little research on the relationship between the business model innovation and M&A in the academic field even the latter one is an effective way for business model innovation that worth study.Some scholars have answered the question"How does M&A affect business model innovation?"As for this problem,the theoretical guidance for enterprises to carry out business model innovation in this way is relatively weak.This paper sorts out the research status of business model innovation,M&A and their relationship on the basis of literature research and puts forward the theoretical hypothesis of the relationship between M&A experience,M&A resource relatedness,integration model and business model innovation.Afterwards,the M&A events of A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen in 2014 were selected as the research object and the above assumptions were tested by building a model and the usage of SPSS.The empirical results show that the M&A experience is helpful to the business model innovation.M&A resource similarity has negative effect on business model innovation and M&A resource complementarity have positive effect on it.In the case of enterprise structural integration,the inhibiting effect of resource similarity on business model innovation will be weakened.In the case that the enterprise gives the buyer autonomy,the role of resource complementarity in promoting the business model innovation will be enhanced.According to the research results,this paper comes to the following conclusions:In the process of M&A,enterprises need to match the resources of the proposed merger with their needs for business model innovation.It is necessary to combine different M&A integration modes to achieve a better degree of business model innovation on the basis of different resource interconnection.At the same time,enterprises should learn from the past M&A experience,make reasonable use of it,improve the effect of business model innovation during the above process.
