South Asia has certain investment attraction for China.Since "The Belt and Road"initiative was put forward,China's direct investment in South Asia has been growing day by day.At present,China's direct investment in South Asia shows great differences and unreasonableness in scale and industry, which hinders the further expansion of China's investment in South Asia. From the perspective of deepening economic cooperation with South Asia and strengthening the construction of friendly relations with South Asia,it is extremely unfavorable for China and South Asia to seek friendly development. This paper takes China's direct investment in South Asia as the research object.Firstly, through reviewing the existing literature,it is found that relevant research mainly focus on politics, economic, culture, resource and technological factors to study the influence of these factors on foreign investment Secondly,on the basis of summarizing the current situation of the investment environment including the political environment, economic development, industrial development and relations with China, this paper analyzes the regional advantages of South Asian countries in geography, resources, labor, technology.Thirdly, starting from the current situation of China's direct investment in South Asia, this paper analyzes the problems in the country distribution of China's direct investment in South Asia through the description of the country distribution of China's direct investment in South Asia in terms of scale and industry.Fourthly, through the establishment of an empirical model, the regression of panel data shows that:openness, tariff policy and infrastructure level have no obvious effect on the scale of China's direct investment in South Asia, while the market size, technological level, political stability and relations with China have a positive correlation with China's direct investment in South Asia.Fifthly, based on the status quo of China's direct investment in South Asia, the existing problems and the empirical regression results, this paper puts forward suggestions on the country distribution of China's direct investment in South Asia in the future, and government should play an active role in encouraging enterprises to invest in South Asia.
