Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has been highly developed,and now China has become the world's second largest economy.However,the imbalance,uncoordinated and unsustainable problems in economic development have become increasingly prominent.Facing the new problems and new challenges emerging in the development,the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee focused on the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way,and proposed five development concepts of "innovation,coordination,green,openness,and sharing",which fully reflected the importance of the balanced development of economy and ecology.To achieve the balanced development of economy and ecology,green innovation is an important way.Enterprise is an important micro-subject of green innovation,so it is of great practical significance to study the green innovation of enterprises.Its green innovation behavior is not only important for the sustainable development of the economy at the macro level,but also positive for the operation and development of the enterprise itself.This paper uses the data of 626 listed companies of SSE on 2009-2017 to construct a multiple linear regression model,and studies the influence of board members'overseas background and heterogeneity on the green innovation of enterprises,and the adj ustment of organizational redundancy.The conclusions indicate that:1)the overseas background of board members has a significant positive impact on the enterprise green innovation;2)the overseas background ratio of board members has a significant positive impact on the enterprise green innovation;3)the heterogeneity of overseas background has a significant positive impact on the enterprise green innovation;4)organizational slack has a negative adjustment effect on the relationship between the board's overseas background and its heterogeneity and the enterprise green innovation.Finally,based on the results of empirical analysis,this paper makes recommendations for the optimization of board members' configuration and rational use of organizational resources,and points out the limitations and future prospects of this study.
