Finance is one of the driving forces to promote economic development.Financial ecological environment plays a vital role in financial development. The level of regional economic development and the operational efficiency of financial industry are largely affected by the quality of regional financial ecological environment.A complete financial ecosystem consists of two major parts, the financial subject and the financial environment. The financial main bodies are mainly the service institutions and regulatory bodies of the financial industry. The quality of the financial ecological environment is affected by all external factors, such as financial products and the demanders of financial services.China’s economic development is increasingly showing a regional "agglomeration effect",forming a core area of regional economic development around one or several big cities in a certain region, such as Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei,Shanghai Economic Zone,Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area, etc. Therefore, this paper chooses several regional central cities as the research object and evaluates their financial ecological environment and puts forward suggestions for improvement,in order to further promote economic development by improving the financial ecological environment and truly achieve what General Secretary Xi Jinping said "financial stability, economic stability;financial activity, economic activity".This paper chooses regional central cities according to the following criteria: the geographical location of the nine branches of the People’s Bank of China, the top 20 cities in China in terms of GDP,the ranking of China’s urban competitiveness proposed by Ni Pengfei and the ranking of urban financial competitiveness proposed by Wang Li,and the total number of Z Yen Group,a British think tank, the China Institute of Comprehensive Development and Co-sponsored and proposed the Global Financial Center Index.Based on the above conditions, the selected regional central cities are Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Nanjing,Hangzhou,Wuhan,Qingdao and Chengdu.Taking the selected regional central cities as samples, this paper studies the financial ecological environment of the regional central cities by establishing an evaluation index system. With factor analysis and grey correlation analysis through SPSS software, this paper explores the reasons of the differences in the financial ecological environment of the regional central cities and the ways to improve them. The first part of the article analyses the background and significance of the topic firstly. Then it combs the current situation of domestic and foreign related research and puts forward the writing ideas and research methods of this article,as well as the possible innovations and shortcomings of this article. The second part elaborates the relevant evaluation theory. The third part focuses on the selection criteria of regional central cities and the selected regional central cities. The fourth part is the construction of the evaluation index system of financial ecological environment of regional central cities.Based on the research results of past scholars and the current situation of development in recent years, the evaluation index system of financial ecological environment of regional central cities is constructed on the basis of comprehensive investigation of the scientificity, comparability, systematicness and data availability of the indicators. The fifth part is mainly about model construction and analysis. The analysis methods are factor analysis and grey correlation analysis. The sixth part is mainly about the results of the financial ecological environment assessment and the relevant countermeasures and suggestions to improve the financial ecological environment of regional central cities.
