Study On The Driving Factors Of Yunnan Tourism Development's Promotion To The Economic Growth

Yunnan's tourism development has come into changes since Lijiang is listed as one of the world's heritage.In the past 20 years,tourism development has exerted a far-reaching influence on the economic growth of Yunnan province.Tourism has always been the most influential industry in the social and economic development of Yunnan province.How does tourism development affect economic growth?Based on the relevant theories and methods,this study explores the driving factors of how tourism development affects economic growth with the time series data of Yunnan province from 1998 to 2017.(1)After going through literature review and relevant theoretical application research,it is found that there is a lack of specific argumentation of the realization path about the impact of tourism development on economic growth.That is to say,previous studies about the impact of tourism development on economic growth were only from a macro perspective,with a lack of research on the ways,means and elements of how tourism development promotes economic growth.According to the applied research of economic growth theory,factor driven theory and Dutch disease effect theory,this paper finds that tourism development promotes economic growth through the intermediary effect of relevant factors.The mode of the action is tourism development-production factors?economic growth.The most important factors of production include labor input,capital input and technological progress,which are the power source of economic growth influencing tourism development.Three hypotheses are formed:first,tourism development promotes economic growth through labor input;Second,tourism development promotes economic growth through capital input.Third,tourism development promotes economic growth through technological progress.(2)These three driving factors were measured by Mediating effect model,Hypothesis-based model,ADF stationary test,Johansen cointegration test and Granger causality test with the time series data of Yunnan province from 1998 to 2017.The total effect of tourism development on economic growth through the three factors is 0.3488,which indicates that tourism development has a great influence on economic growth.The mediating effects of tourism development on economic growth through labor force input,capital input and technological progress are 0.0902,0.2871 and 0.0571 respectively,indicating that the acting force of capital input is the strongest.(3)There are differences in the mediating effects of factors in the transmission path.The relative importance of labor input,capital input and technological progress is 20.76%,66.09%and 13.14%.The results show that there are differences in the three factors'transmission effects on economic growth,and that labor force input,capital input and technological progress have different transmission effects on economic growth.Yunnan's tourism development promotes economic growth mainly by capital input,which is an extensive growth mode.Therefore,the way by which Yunnan's tourism development promotes its economic growth should be transformed from capital-input driven mode to technological-progress driven mode,as well as improve the quality of labor input.This study provides reference and support for this transformation.
