American Internet Bank was born in the wave of Internet technology in the 1990 s.As a product of the combination of traditional banking and emerging technologies, after nearly 30 years of development,it has begun to take shape.Although China's Internet banking started late, relying on the popularity of mobile Internet infrastructure and the development of emerging data science,it has made great progress in recent years.Stones form other hills may serve to polish the jade of this one.Under the background of the rapid development of Internet banking in China,it is of great practical significance to study the influence of scale effect and experience effect on US Internet banking,to learn the development experience of American Internet banking, and to develop and grow China's Internet banking industry.Based on this, this paper first defines the concept of Internet banking, introduces the history and current situation of Internet banking in China and the United States, briefly expounds the related theories of scale effect and experience effect, and combines the characteristics of Internet banking industry to scale effect and experience effect. The effect of Internet banking was theoretically analyzed.Secondly, based on the bank's return on assets, this paper compares the differences between American Internet banks and traditional banks, and makes a brief analysis of the scale effect and experience effects of US Internet banks. On this basis, this paper selects a representative US Internet bank and its matching traditional bank as a sample, using the ordinary least squares method to carry out regression analysis on its scale effect and experience effect. The empirical analysis has determined the following four conclusions: First,Internet banks have significant scale effects, and this effect mainly comes from its efficient Internet operations;Second,Internet banks have nonlinear experience effects, and the experience effect did not occur at the beginning of the establishment of the bank;Third,small-scale Internet banks face greater risks and uncertainties. Finally, based on the current development of Internet banking in China and the United States, combined with the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis of the previous thesis, this paper puts forward four suggestions for the development of Internet banking in China: First, strengthen Internet operations and give full play to the scale effect of Internet banking;Second, optimize product design and play Internet banking experience effect as soon as possible;Third, accelerate the pace of expansion and avoid the uncertainty brought about by small-scale operations;Fourth, strengthen technological innovation and maintain the superiority of Internet banking technology.
