Infrastructure is not only a prerequisite for economic growth, but also an important means for the government to regulate the economy. In the process of China's modernization construction, the state's investment demand for infrastructure construction has maintained a strong momentum. The development of infrastructure has driven the rapid development of the economy to a certain extent. At the same time that the economy continues to rise, the country ' s implementation of a sloping regional development strategy has gradually revealed regional development differences. The western region has always been a "short board" in the development of infrastructure construction in China.Investigating and analyzing the extent, direction and role of different economic infrastructure construction on the economic growth of the western region is conducive to providing a theoretical basis for the government to formulate policies and promoting regional coordinated development. The research content of this paper is mainly aimed at the development and implementation of the western development strategy in China. After more than ten years of development, how the western infrastructure investment construction plays a role in economic growth.First, analyze the status quo and problems of transportation, energy, information infrastructure development and economic growth in the western region, and sort out the impact mechanism of transportation, energy and information infrastructure development on economic growth. Then measure the output effects and threshold effects of transportation, energy and information infrastructure on the western region, and identify the types of economic infrastructure that contribute the most to economic growth. Finally, clarify the reasons why economic infrastructure presents spatial characteristics to economic growth, establish a spatial panel model to analyze its spillover effects, and more accurately identify the economic infrastructure investmentdirection in the western region,in order to explore the perfect path of economic infrastructure in the western region and provide effective reference and empirical evidence for effectively solving economic growth problems in underdeveloped regions.According to the research results, the western region has problems such as low level of transportation and information infrastructure construction, low utilization efficiency, and lagging economic growth. The transportation infrastructure in the three economic infrastructures has the most obvious effect on the economic growth of the western region. There are significant spatial spillover effects in energy infrastructure and information infrastructure.Neglecting spatial factors will overestimate its contribution to economic growth. In view of the above research results,it is proposed that the construction of transportation infrastructure should meet the needs of economic development in the western region, appropriately increase investment in energy infrastructure construction, appropriately advance the development of information infrastructure, pay attention to the return on investment in infrastructure, promote the interconnection of infrastructure in the western region and make recommendations on the spillover effects of infrastructure space.
