Since the G20 summit in 2012 oficially included GVC in the conference,the global value chain has become a development issue that is highly valued by all countries in the world.This article does not deny that companies participate in the global value chain has a positive effect on China's economic growth,but from another perspective to deepen the complex and comprehensive impact of the integration of global value chains on the sustainable growth of China's economy.By combing the literature and combining the fact that China's current independent innovation capability is not strong,it is found that there may be an inverted U-type relationship between embedded global value chain and enterprise independent innovation and tested by empirical evidence.This paper uses the China Industrial Enterprise Database and China Customs Database from 2000 to 2013 to measure the extent to which Chinese companles embed global value chains,and merges the china Intellectual Property Database to examine how the participation of global value chains affects enterprises.Innovative research and development behavior issues.From the empirical results,first,participation in the global value chain will significantly inhibit the independent innovation of enterprises,and the suppression effect of high-tech innovation represented by invention patents is stronger.This relationship is stable under different GVC embedded indicators,different independent innovation measures,and exclusion of endogeneity.It is worth noting that the suppression of GVC embedded in the independent innovation of enterprises has an inverted U-type relationship,that is,in the initial stage of embedding GVC.it will promote the independent innovation of enterprises,and if it continues to be embedded after reaching the inverted U-shaped threshold,it will start to the enterprise.Independent innovation has a negative impact.At present,the effect of value chain embedding on the independent innovation of Chinese enterprises is already in the range of suppression effect.Second,the relationship between GVC embedding and independent innovation is closely related to the following two mechanisms:(1)When the degree of market segmentation of the province in which the enterprise is located is large,the inter-regional trade cost even exceeds international trade.Cost,enterprises can not make full use of the domestic market with huge demand,local enterprises will be squeezed into foreign markets because of weak competitiveness,it is easy to be locked in the low end of the global value chain by foreign markets,and fall into "low added value,micro The tragic situation of profit.(2)Developed countries will use various invisible means to hinder the improvement of independent innovation capability of developing countries,so that developing country enterprises are "locked in" or "captured" in the global value chain system with "innovation ability and added value".Production assembly process.Third,the independent innovation effect of GVC embedded enterprises is different due to industry heterogeneity and corporate heterogeneity.From the perspective of industry inhibition,enterprises in the middle and high technology industries and high-tech industries are more susceptible to the suppression effect in the process of embedding GVC.From the perspective of enterprise heterogeneity,GVC embeds a significant inverted U-type relationship with independent innovation of foreign-funded enterprises and private enterprises.At present,most enterprises are already in the suppression effect range,and the suppression effect on foreign-funded enterprises is stronger.However,there is no obvious linear or nonlinear relationship between GVC embedding and independent innovation of state-owned or collective enterprises;embedding global value chains has a significant inhibitory effect on the independent innovation of processing trade enterprises and mixed trade enterprises,and general trade The independent innovation of enterprises presents an inverted U-shaped relationship,and the GVC embedding degree of most general trading enterprises is on the left side of the inverted U-shaped.Fourth,the construction of NVC(domestic value chain)will weaken the suppression effect of GVC on independent innovation of enterprises,mainly by weakening the suppression effect on high-tech innovation and processing trade enterprises,and this relationship is not replaced by GVC indicators.Changes were made to the replacement of enterprise independent innovation indicators and the deletion of extreme value samples.Therefore,in order to get rid of the predicament that Chinese enterprises have been locked in the low end of the global value chain for a long time and achieve high-end climbing to the global value chain,it is necessary to actively cultivate the home country market,build a domestic value chain based on the home country market,and accelerate the transformation of trade methods and enterprises.Its own technology absorption capacity.
