| With the development of Wenzhou shoe industry in global value chain, the export of footwear as well as it's international competitiveness have increased dramatically. However, this industry is still faced with the pressure form both home and abroad. This is not only due to the particularity of shoe industry and the initial position of Wenzhou shoe industry, but also a result of the inherent mode of governance and driving force of global value chain. Based on the global value chain of shoe industry, this paper developed a research system of independent innovation capability for Wenzhou shoe industry so as to provide effective and feasible strategies for shoe making factories, local government and footwear association in Wenzhou. The research of this paper is divided into five parts:By reviewing theories on global value chain, innovation and independent innovation, the first part aims to summarize key concept for research, define research objects as well as clarify theoretical foundation for this paper.In the second part, the paper first explained the position of Wenzhou shoe industry in international market and global value chain, then analyzed the reason for this position with the starting points of constraints from home and abroad facing Wenzhou shoe industry. Further, the relations between Wenzhou shoe industry and global value chain is analyzed with international trade theories, then came up with the view that innovation is the best solution to those constraints.The third part starts from a summary of researches on independent innovation capability of corporations. Then according to the cluster characteristics of Wenzhou shoe industry, a conceptual model for independent innovation capability of shoe industry is built up. Comprised of innovation capabilities of manufacturing technology, marketing tool, product integration and industrial clusters, the mode is subjected to theories of specialization and upgrade of global value chain.Based on theoretical analysis, the forth part brought forward the mode and assumptions for empirical research. With the data collected from questionnaire survey, the paper made statistical analysis and factor analysis modeling with SPSS then came to the conclusion. In the fifth part, according to the results of theories and current situation analysis as well as empirical analysis, the argument ascended to a level of Wenzhou shoe industry, that is to say, industrial cluster to figure out problems of independent innovation system of Wenzhou shoe industry, then gave some proposals to improve such capability: (1) In the respect of market, the following points are of vital importance: Establishing motive mechanism for independent innovation; Promoting an open acquisition mechanism for innovative recourses; Creating system for independent innovative global value chain. (2) As for the government, the responsibilities involves: Constructing soft environment for innovation and stimulating innovation internally. Formulating systematic innovation policies and serve the process of innovation externally. |
