Since the end of 1980 s,scholars have reached a consensus on the importance of maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage in the research field of enterprise strategic management.And the formation path of sustainable competitive advantage is also a hot topic discussed by academia and entrepreneurs.Nowadays,with the increasing of diversity of demand,the variability of the environment and the fierce competition,traditional factors of production such as material,capital and labor are no longer decisive resources for the sustainable development of enterprises,and it is increasingly difficult to maintain the sustainable competitive advantage of enterprises by investment in simple tangible assets.By contrast,as intangible assets,intellectual capital and corporate character play an increasingly important role in the process of value creation,and also interpret the source of sustainable competitive advantage of enterprises in a totally new form.This study aims to explore the impact of intellectual capital and corporate character on sustainable competitive advantage.Firstly,using the research paradigm of combining qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis,on the basis of literature research and content analysis,this paper identifies the dimensions of the localization of enterprise personality under the new economic background of China,and then expands the sample.Then,the structural equation model is used to analyze the relationships between intellectual capital,corporate character and sustainable competitive advantage,which are mediated by ambidextrous innovation(technological innovation and business model innovation),based on a questionnaire survey of 377 samples in China.The empirical results indicate that the intellectual capital and corporate character are as the doors that enterprises can open to acquire technological innovation and business model innovation,which are beneficial to achieving and maintaining sustainable competitive advantage.This study provides scholars a new binary perspective to explore the source of sustainable competitive advantage.The findings provide some implications for entrepreneurs that in the practice of enterprise management,they should focus on the coordination and balance of intellectual capital and corporate character for better achieving the perfect integration of cost leading strategy and differentiation strategy on the basis of integrating technological innovation and business model innovationtogether to build a mechanism of knowledge to value transformation.Such strategy helps enterprises to achieve sustainable development.
