Income is the main factor affecting the consumption of rural residents, but agricultural production and operating income is the main component of rural residents'income.Because of the existence of agricultural production risks, agricultural production and operating income has great volatility. As an effective mechanism to disperse agricultural production risks and compensate for post-disaster losses, agricultural insurance is conducive to safeguarding agricultural production, stabilizing farmers' income, and thus affecting rural residents'consumption.Based on this relationship, this paper attempts to explore the impact of agricultural insurance on rural residents' consumption in China from the two dimensions of agricultural insurance security level and agricultural insurance compensation level. This paper is divided into five chapters to analyze how agricultural insurance affects the consumption of rural residents in China.Specifically:Chapter 1:Introduction.This chapter introduces the research background, research significance,a summary of research at home and abroadr, esearch content and ideas, research methods, possible innovations and deficiencies. The second chapter:the development of China's agricultural insurance and rural residents'consumption. This chapter describes the history of China's agricultural insurance development, the total market, existing problems, and the changes in the consumption level and consumption structure of rural residents in China, and the analysis of the necessity of expanding rural residents'consumption. The third chapter:the impact mechanism of agricultural insurance on rural residents'consumption.Based on Keynesian absolute income hypothesis and preventive savings theory, this chapter analyzes the mechanism of agricultural insurance security level and agricultural insurance compensation level on rural residents, consumption, and makes assumptions about the direction of influence. The fourth chapter is the empirical analysis of the impact of agricultural insurance on the consumption of rural residents in China.Based on the 2007-2016 panel data of 30 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government),the dynamic differential GMM model is used to empirically test the short-term and long-term effects of agricultural insurance on rural residents'consumption. Then build the LA/AIDS expansion model and use the SUR estimation method to test the specific impact size and direction of agricultural insurance on the consumption structure of rural residents in China.Chapter 5:Conclusions and recommendations. This chapter mainly expounds the research conclusions of this paper, and puts forward some feasible suggestions based on the conclusions.Through theoretical mechanism and empirical test,it is found that the short-term impact of agricultural insurance guarantee level on the total consumption of rural residents in China is significantly positive, and the long-term impact is significantly negative, but generally promotes the increase of the total consumption level of rural residents; The short-term impact of total residents'consumption is significantly negative, and the long-term impact is significantly positive. However, the overall improvement of agricultural insurance compensation level has led to a decline in the total consumption of rural residents;the short-term impact of the total effect of agricultural insurance is positive, and the long-term impact direction is Negative, but agricultural insurance generally has a certain role in promoting the total consumption of rural residents. And the level of agricultural insurance protection, the level of agricultural insurance compensation, and the total effect of agricultural insurance have different degrees of impact on the consumption structure of rural residents in China.
