Research On Competitiveness And Complementarity Of Agricultural Products Intra-Industry Trade Of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area

With the continuous deepening and development of economic globalization,intra-industry trade has become an increasingly important form of trade.As a member of the largest free trade zone in the developing countries of the world,the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,the trade between China and ASEAN is of great significance to both sides.With the continuous deepening of trade cooperation and the growing scale of trade between China and ASEAN,the intra-industry trade between China and ASEAN is also constantly increasing.Among them,the intra-industry trade of agricultural products has also attracted the attention of many people.This research mainly analyzes the agricultural products intra-industry trade of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and its competitiveness and complementarity through the agricultural trade data of China and ASEAN in 2007-2017.This study divides agricultural products into six categories,based on the SITC classification standard.Based on a large amount of literature reading and and comparative research,the intra-industry trade index,trade competitive index,and the trade complementarity index are used to analysis agricultural trade data of China and ASEAN in 2007-2017.It is concluded that the agricultural products intra-industry trade situation and its competitiveness and complementarity situation in China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.And put forward corresponding suggestions for the development of agricultural products intra-industry trade of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,according to the actual situation.It is concluded that: First,in the agricultural trade of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,intra-industry trade exists.The level of the agricultural products intra-industry trade is quite different among different countries or different agricultural products categories.Second,in the agricultural products trade of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,China has great competitive advantages in the of animal product,and it has a great disadvantage in the trade of bulk agricultural products and forest products.In the trade of horticultural products,aquatic products and other agricultural products,the competition is quite different among different ASEAN counties.Third,the complementarity of the agricultural products trade of China export and ASEAN countries import trade is relatively low,and it is relatively high in the China import and ASEAN countries export.The complementarity of the agricultural products trade is quite different for different countries or agricultural categories.Based on the above conclusions,this study puts forward the following suggestions for the development of agricultural products intra-industry trade in the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area: First,further improve the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area policy,optimize the trade environment between China and ASEAN countries,and reduce transaction costs,and give play to the policy-oriented role of the Chinese government,and provide financial support to help enterprises enhance their competitiveness and promote the development of intra-industry trade of agriculturalproducts industry.Second,for the different competitiveness of different agricultural product categories,give effective support and assistance to enterprises in terms of policies,funds and technologies,support and encourage enterprises to vigorously develop green agriculture and high-tech agriculture,improve the quality and uniqueness of agricultural products,and improve its technical content and added value.Third,in view of the fact that China-ASEAN agricultural product trade complementarity is different due to different trading countries and product categories,China should actively improve the production technology level of agricultural products,adjust and optimize product structure,and actively develop new types of agricultural products for different countries and product categories.
