A Study On The Trade Potential Of Aquatic Products Between China And ASEAN

In the process of cooperation between China and ASEAN from "golden ten years" to "Diamond ten years",as an important area of China and ASEAN economic cooperation,aquatic products trade has attracted the attention of both countries.Especially in 2010,Chinese-ASEAN Free Trade Area of the fully completed,marking the two sides more than 90% trade products(including aquatic products)zero tariff,the average tariff dropped from 9.8% to 0.1%,2013 "21Maritime Silk Road" The proposed national strategy will undoubtedly provide a broader space for the two sides of aquatic products trade.On the basis of a brief review of the theoretical and practical research.this paper first makes a comprehensive statistical analysis and comparative study on the trade history and current situation of aquatic products between China and ASEAN,from three angles of total trade,product structure and market structure,the development of aquatic products trade between China and ASEAN has been compared in the past 15 years.Then,using the two-digit classification method of SITC aquatic products,the trade relations of aquatic products between China and ASEAN were analyzed,The trade-union index,dominant comparative advantage index and trade complementarity index were selected to analyze the trade relationship of aquatic products between China and ASEAN in2000-2015.Competition and complementarities,it is concluded that there is a competition relationship between the two countries' aquatic products trade,but the complementarity is the main one.On the basis of this,the author uses the gravitation model to study the trade data of aquatic products between China and ASEAN from 2000 to 2015.The results show that the factors affecting the trade of aquatic products between China and ASEAN include: gross national product,per capita income gap,distance,The output value of Chinese aquatic products and the level of tariffs,Gross national product,output value and tariff level of Chinese aquatic products are positively correlated with bilateral aquatic products trade,while per capita income gap,distance and exchange rate are negatively correlated with bilateral aquatic products trade.Based on the results,the trade potential between China and ASEAN is further measured.The potential trade between China and ASEAN is found to be great.Finally,on the basis of summarizing the above theoretical analysis and empirical resear ch,the author puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.Mainly incl-ude:improving the quality of aquatic products,Enhancing the competitiveness of aquatic products;optimizing the structure of aquatic products,giving full play to complementary ad vantages;deepening the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area cooperation,Promoting bilateral trade in aquatic products;maintaining its rapid economic development,assisting economic development of ASEAN.
