Now,increasingly enterprises are using social media platform to enhance the communication and collaboration within and outside the organization.By social media platform,employees can communicate with each other,establish relationship and share knowledge.In recent years,with the development of social media platform,the concept of“affordance” is more and more widely used in organizational research,mainly for the purpose of studying the interaction mode between tools,technologies and organizations,so as to better understand how the combination of technical characteristics and organizations affects the innovation and operation of organizations.As a main way of communication among employees,the social media affordance has an important impact on employees' work behaviors and organizational communication process.With the development of globalization,enterprises are facing a more complex and changeable environment.The traditional strategic mode of planning before execution can't adapt to the dynamic situation,and enterprises often need to improvise to cope with the changes of the environment.Improvisation refers to the process in which employees can use the existing resources of the organization and their own knowledge and experience to solve unexpected things spontaneously and creatively under the pressure of dynamic environment and time,so as to achieve organizational goals.As a spontaneous and innovative behavior,improvisation requires employees to fully integrate views,share information and ideas,and cooperate to achieve common organizational goals.Then,with the wide application of social media platform,how to promote organizational improvisation with the technical advantages of platform is the main concern of this paper.Therefore,this paper mainly around the mechanism of social media affordance to the team improvisation,exploring the mediating role of team psychological safety and shared mental model,as well as the moderating role of inclusive platform climate.This paper conducts the questionnaire survey among 349 team members from 88 teams and adopts structural equation model,Bootstrap method and hierarchical regression method for data statistical analysis.The results show that the social media affordance,including visibility,association,editability and persistence,has a significant positiveimpact on team improvisation;Team psychological security and shared mental model play mediating role in the relationship between social media affordance and team improvisation;The inclusive platform climate positively moderates the relationship between the social media affordance with team psychological security and shared mental model.The research results enrich the research on the theory of social media affordance and provide new insight for the promotion of team improvisation.
