In recent years,microblogging,wiki and other social media began to be introduced into the work,while the emergence of usingcorporate social software platform becomes a wave.In addition,improvisation emerges in the context of increasingly volatile,complex,and uncertain market conditions.Enterprise social software platform and Improvisation are emerging areas of research in management.The lacking of systematical research about the empirical study of the enterprise social software platform and improvisation,especially the mechanism of enterprise social software platformaffecting the team's improvisation is not clear.This makes our study try to explore following research questions in Chinese context:How the use of enterprise social software platform influences the team's improvisation through the social capital of the team?How this relationship is influenced by different levels of teamabsorptive capacity?This paper adopt the team-level approach to answer the above research questions.The theoretical significance of this study is to extract the main way of using the enterprise social software platform by team.And on this basis,the process variables of social capital and the regulatory variables of team absorptive capacity are introduced,then try to uncover the "black box"of the enterprise social software platform can enhance team's improvisation.The practical significance is to guide the team using enterprise social software platform to gain team social capital,thereby enhancing the team's improvisation.This paper explicated the research status through the research of theoretical literature and exploratory case study.We have distributed 300 questionnaires and received 280,and the response rate is 93.3%.There are 268 valid questionnaires,involving 54 teams.Then we process data using SPSS,and AMOS tools,testing the proposed theoretical model.The main results are as follows:(1)Intra-team ESSP use facilitate the integration of bonding social capital within team and bridge social capital within team;Inter-team ESSP use promote the integration of bonding social capital outside the team and bridge social capitaloutside the team.(2)Bonding social capital within team,bridge social capital within team and bonding social capital outside the team of team's social capital have a positive impact on spontaneity,which is the dimension of team's improvisation.And bridge social capital within team and bridge social capital outside the team of team's social capital have a positive impact on creativity,which is the dimension of team's improvisation.(3)Team's absorptive capacity play a positive moderating effect on the relationship between bridge social capital within team,bridge social capital outside the team and spontaneity of team's improvisation.With higher level of team's absorptive capacity,the positive relationship between bridge social capital within team,bridge social capital outside the team and spontaneity of team's improvisation are strengthened.(4)Team social capital as an intermediary variable played a brokering role in the relationship between ESSP use and team's improvisation.The innovation of this paper is that the sample data comes from teams that use the enterprise social software platform.And enrich the research of improvisation at the team level through the perspective of social capital and team absorptive capacity.This paper enriches the literature about the influence of ESSP use and the team's improvisation,makes guidance for enterprise how to use and harness ESSP,and has an important significance in practice.
