Research On The Impact Of Internet Construction On The Production Efficiency Of China's Service Industry

The service industry is the fastest growing industry in China currently.The development of the service industry is an important way to expand China's domestic demand and promote China's economic transformation and upgrading.However,due to the late start of the development,the unbalanced regional development,the unreasonable use of traditional production factors,etc.,the overall production efficiency of the service industry in China is not high.At present,the implementation of China's "Internet+"strategy aims to encourage traditional enterprises to transform to the Internet production mode and promote economic development through the Internet.As the industry with the closest connection with the Internet the service industry has inherent advantages in relying on the Internet for development.Therefore,analyzing the production efficiency level of China's service industry and the status quo of Internet construction,measuring and evaluating the impact of China's Internet construction on the service industry's production efficiency in recent years,and proposing relevant suggestions for promoting the "Internet+Service" model is of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of China's service industry.The Internet mainly promotes the improvement of the production efficiency of the service industry from two aspects of Internet technology and Internet platform.The former realizes the advancement of production technology and product innovation from the production level and the consumption level,which improves the efficiency of enterprise internal information communication and expands demand by improving the consumer's consumption environment and consumption concept.The latter constructs an information platform between the enterprises and consumers,which improves the efficiency of matching supply and demand information in the service industry market.It also builds a network platform between the enterprises,realizing virtual industry clusters and promoting new service industries.Thus,that will improve the technical efficiency of service companies.This paper uses the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2004 to 2016 to construct a fixed-effect panel Tobit model,and empirically analyzes the impact of the Internet on the total factor productivity of the service industry.It finds that from a national perspective,the improvement of the level of Internet construction can promote the production efficiency of the service industry.From the perspective of efficiency improvement,the promotion of the Internet construction is not only reflected in the advancement of technology in the service industry,but also in improving technical efficiency,but more at the level of technical efficiency.In the research between different regions,this paper finds that the effect of the Internet on the productivity of the service industry is more significant in the eastern and northeastern regions in China.In the research of sub-sectors,this paper finds that the Internet construction can improve the production efficiency of the wholesale and retail industries,transportation,warehousing and postal services industries,accommodation and catering industries,and finance industry.Consequently,in order to play the positive role of Internet construction in improving the productivity of the service industry,at the macro-strategic level,the govermment should continue to promote the implementation of the "Internet+" strategy and develop the pilot service industries.At the industrial policy level,the government should optimize the industry structure within the service industry and encourage the development of new service industries.At the regional construction level,the government should improve the effective use of existing network resources by service enterprises in the eastern and northeastern regions,and promote and guide the Internet development of service industries in the central and western regions.At the level of rule of law supervision,the government should improve the regulations and policies in the field of network supervision and popularize the use of network security monitoring platform.
