China's reform and opening up has made China become the second largest economy in the world.With the economic growth,China has entered the ranks of the world's largest carbon emissions.The global climate warming makes many countries in the world ask China to undertake more emission reduction tasks,and our government also gives specific emission reduction targets.How to reduce carbon emissions?The McKinsey Institute believes that boosting carbon productivity is an effective way to reduce carbon emissions.Improving carbon productivity depends not only on the country's macroeconomic regulation,but also on the steady implementation of the C02 emission reduction mandate by regional economies.What is the total factor carbon productivity in the Pan Pearl River Delta Economic Zone,and what factors affect the total factor carbon productivity?To understand the status and causes of total factor carbon productivity,we can provide guidance on carbon emission reductions.In this paper,firstly,the data envelopment model and the directional function model are combined to calculate the total factor carbon productivity of 9 provinces and autonomous regions in the Pan Pearl River Delta region,and the present situation and trend of the total factor carbon productivity are analyzed;Then,exploratory spatial analysis is applied to analyze the spatial distribution and variation trend of the region,and its spatial agglomeration effect is also analyzed.Finally,based on panel data from 9 provinces in Pan Pearl River Delta economic zone from 2003 to 2014 construction of the total factor productivity of carbon impact factors of ordinary panel data model and spatial panel model,through the comparison of estimation results of model analysis of the total factor productivity of carbon in the region if there are changes in the spatial effect and influence factors.The research results show that the total factor carbon productivity has the spatial agglomeration effect,and the spatial panel model has better estimation results than the ordinary panel model,and it can reflect the change of total factor carbon productivity.Among them,the coefficient of the impact of innovation on total factor carbon productivity is 0.02443,which means that the progress of science and technology has a positive effect on total factor carbon productivity.Energy efficiency also has a positive effect on total factor carbon productivity.When energy efficiency is increased by 1%,total factor carbon productivity can be increased by 0.10387%.The improvement of energy efficiency can effectively improve the productivity of total factor carbon.In addition,the dependence of industrial structure,foreign trade dependence,per capita income and FDI on regional total factor carbon productivity is negative.The industrial structure has a negative effect on the regional total factor carbon productivity,and when the industrial structure is increased by 1%,the total factor carbon productivity will decrease by 0.04014%.There is a negative relationship between FDI and total factor carbon productivity.When FDI increases by 1%,total factor carbon productivity will decrease by 0.007319%.Because foreign investment brings advanced technology to the Pan Pearl River Delta Economic Zone,it can not promote the rapid upgrading of regional production technology level,thereby enhancing the productivity of total factor carbon.The opening degree and the influence coefficient of per capita income and total factor productivity of carbon are-0.002358,-0.103243 mean that when the opening degree,the level of per capita income increased 1%,the total factor productivity of carbon respectively decreased by 0.002358%,0.103243%.This may be because the Pan Pearl River Delta economic zone opening in the area earlier,many export-oriented enterprises to design the production of small household appliances,light manufacturing,but the technical level of these enterprises is not high,low energy efficiency,carbon dioxide emissions,the regional total factor productivity carbon negative.There is a negative relationship between per capita income level and total factor carbon productivity.It shows that in the Pan Pearl River Delta Economic Zone,when the per capita income level is raised by 1%,the TFP will decrease by 0.103243%.The model of spatial auto regression coefficient is positive,that the total factor productivity of carbon in Pan Pearl River Delta economic zone has a spillover effect,when the total factor of carbon productivity in the region is higher than that of other regions will occur the spillover effect,driven by growth in other regions.Finally,the following suggestions are put forward to improve the productivity of total factor carbon:From the point of view of innovation.to promote innovation in production technology and green technology,make scientific research institutions and institutes innovations can be translated into practical productive forces,make enterprises and scientific research institutions to improve the efficiency of cooperation,technology transformation;From the perspective of foreign trade,export enterprises to promote the transformation and upgrading,and increase the proportion of high-tech products in total exports.To reduce the high carbon products export proportion,to avoid becoming a pollution haven in western countries "pollution havens";Energy use efficiency is an effective means to increase carbon productivity.In the Pan Pearl River Delta economic zone,the research,development and application of energy utilization technologies should be well developed,and the role of spatial spillover effects should be emphasized.To strengthen the R&D of energy utilization technology,we should not only pay attention to environmental benefits,but also pay attention to the economic benefits of technology;In the aspect of industrial structure,the structure of the three major industries should be well adjusted in the Pan Pearl River Delta Economic Zone,and the industry structure within the industry should be adjusted.For the areas with good economic development,we should attach importance to the upgrading of the industrial structure within the industry,and give priority to the level of economic development for areas with backward economic development.FDI has a negative effect on the level of regional total factor carbon productivity,so we should pay attention to the quality and technical level of foreign investment.For advanced technology industries,we should vigorously support and pay attention to the study and transformation of foreign investment industry technology.
