| R&D is one of the core functions of one enterprise and the main way to enhance its international competitive advantage.With the deepening of economic globalization,multinational corporations need to implement global layout,invest in R&D globally,set up R&D institutions,and carry out R&D activities,this way breaks the situation that they used to only carry out R&D in their home countries.At the same time,since the reform and opening-up,China's economy has grown rapidly and its international status has improved significantly.China's huge potential market,good economic growth rate,stable political and social environment,high-quality and cheap human resources and a series of preferential investment policies issued by the government have attracted multinational corporations to invest in R&D and carry out R&D activities in China.Based on the basic theory of multinational corporations' overseas R&D investment,this paper analyses the present situation of foreign R&D investment and combines with the actual situation of our country.we choose five indicators: market scale,foreign investment scale,scientific research level,scientific research personnel and intellectual property protection level to research their impact on Chinese foreign R&D investment.With the help of the panel data about 24 provinces in 2010-2016,this paper studies the impact of foreign R&D investment on China.The regression model shows that market size,foreign investment scale,scientific research personnel and intellectual property protection degree have significant impact on the absorption of R&D investment from multinational corporations in China,besides,the impact of scientific research level is general.Based on the analysis of the empirical results,the paper finally puts forward some specific suggestions to promote our country to absorb foreign R&D investment,hoping that the conclusions and suggestions can provide some reference for our country to further strive for foreign R&D investment. |
