With the continuous acceleration of urbanization in China,the increasing number of urban population has led to an increase in land demand,while land as a scarce resource,nonrenewable,the contradiction between the two is becoming increasingly prominent.As one of the "three development strategies" of China at the national level,the level of urbanization is also at the forefront,and the problem of mismatch between land supply and land demand is more prominent,so it is very important to analyze the present situation of land use in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and study its relationship with economic growth.This paper collects the panel data of 108 cities and above in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in 2007-2016,follows the principles of scientific,comprehensive,representative and usability,and constructs the index system of land use efficiency measurement which conforms to the requirements of high quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt by studying the regional characteristics and research purposes in this paper.The SBM-Undesirable model which can contain non-expected output is selected to measure the static efficiency value of land use,and the change of land use efficiency is analyzed by using Malmquist-Luenberger index.On this basis,the measurement model of the impact of land use efficiency on economic growth is deduced by using Cobb-Douglas production function,and the regression of the overall and sub-regions is carried out respectively,and the robustness of the control variable test model is gradually added.The results show that:(1)from the overall land use efficiency level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,the average value of land use comprehensive efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in 2007-2016 is 0.79,reaching the highest level in 2014 and only 0.81,and there is still a lot of room for improvement in general.The correlation coefficient between pure technology efficiency and comprehensive efficiency is higher than scale efficiency,and the pure technology efficiency has a greater effect on the land use efficiency of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.(2)from the spatial pattern distribution of land use efficiency in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,it shows that the lower reaches of the Yangtze River are significantly higher than the cascade distribution pattern in the middle and upper reaches,and the unbalanced state is prominent.(3)The results of ML index measurement indicate that the total factor productivity of land use in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has declined first and then increased.Among them,the average ML index for 2007-2014 is 0.983,the utilization efficiency is reduced at an average annual rate of 1.7%,the average value for 2014-2016 is 1.047,and the total factor productivity is increasing at an average annual rate of 4.7%.(4)The results of overall panel metering regression show that urban land use efficiency has a positive effect on economic growth,and after gradually adding control variables,the coefficient is still significantly greater than 0,and the coefficient value fluctuates slightly around 0.2.The results of subregional regression show that the more economically developed cities,the more obvious the promotion of land use efficiency to their economic growth.
