Many deep changes in Seed Industry in China took place accompanied by Chinese Reform and Opening.The seed market is opening longitudinally.Changes in main bodies in the market and market access to foreign investments add up to variables in the seed market.In the background of the global economic integration,the trend of globalization of Seed Industry is becoming more and more obvious.Seed Industry in Guangxi,the leading Planting Industry province(region),made some achievements in recent years,but there still exist many shortcomings and problems.In the background of globalization of Seed Industry and developments driven by innovations for scientific research,based on "Porter's diamond",through analyses of 6 factors of competitiveness which include "factors of production","demand conditions","interrelated and supporting industries","firm strategy,structure and rivalry" and "governments and opportunities",adopting methods like the summarization,qualitative analysis and so on,studying comprehensively the states and competitive advantages of Seed Industry in Guangxi,this article deems that Guangxi has certain advantages in geography and climes and Guangxi is rich in germplasm,especially in rice,when analyzing factors of production.The number of people engaged in seed companies increased year by year,but not did the number of people engaged in germplasm and breeding increase which results in shortcomings in scientific research capacity of companies.Hence,more efforts should be put on Seed Industry infrastructures in Guangxi.Seeds sales of key enterprises in Guangxi make up a relatively low share of sales in the whole country and the selling profit increased slowly in recent years,when analyzing demand conditions.Interrelated and supporting industries developed insufficiently when analyzing interrelated and supporting industries.Thus directly involving industries like agricultural materials,logistics and so on need synchronous developments.Governmental investments are increasing and relevant laws and policies are improving when analyzing governments and opportunities.This creates better marketing environments for Seed Industry in Guangxi.Accompanied by the obvious trend of the integration of global markets,fast changing situations and declarations of lists of exclusions,reforms in domestic Seed Industry are pushed on continuously.Markets place greater demands on companies and they are pushed to change,to innovate.Based on Porter's diamond,directing against advantages and disadvantages of industrial developments and combining realities in Seed Industry in Guangxi,this article proposes several recommendations and measures appropriate for developments of Seed Industry in Guangxi in the future which include strengthening cultivation of creative talents,accelerating scientific and technological progress and innovation,constructing related infrastructures,specializing,refining,creating markets overseas,pushing developments of interrelated and supportive industries,increasing governmental investments,enhancing supervision for seed qualities,etc...
