Research On The Position And Influencing Factors Of Chinese Manufacturing Industry In The Global Value Chain Division Of Labor

In the context of globalization,the entire production process of products is divided into different links,each production process is dispersed in different countries,each country only undertakes a certain production link,such as research and development,processing and manufacturing,sales Links,etc.,global value chains are also generated.Developed countries with high technology and product R&D design advantages occupy high-end value-added links in the global value chain,while developing countries can only participate in international division of labor through trade assembly,production and processing,etc.by virtue of comparative advantages such as cheap labor.It has a low added value and is therefore at the low end of the global value chain.The degree of participation of a country in the division of international trade and its position in the division of labor in the global value chain have an important impact.Under the global value chain,product elements are freely transferred around the world.After the reform and opening up,China has further participated in the international division of labor.However,China's embedded global value chain has made China have lower product value added,and China lacks its own brand.As well as the weak research and development capabilities,relying on the comparative advantage of cheap labor makes the global value chain division of China's manufacturing industry easy to fall to the bottom of the "smile" curve,which hinders its status.Using the world input-output table data,this paper uses the status index proposed by Koopman et al.to measure the position of the manufacturing industry in the global value chain of 43 countries and one economy in the WIOD database,and the global value of China's manufacturing industry.The status of chain division and the 42 countries in the WIOD database have made international comparisons,and comparatively analyzed the trend of the global value chain division of 18 segments of China's manufacturing industry.It is found that China's manufacturing industry ranked 13 th among 43 countries in 2014.In addition to the higher status of low-and medium-tech manufacturing in China's manufacturing industry,the high-tech manufacturing GVC has a lower division of labor,saying that China's R&D intensity and technical level The ability is low.In order to enhance the position of China's manufacturing industry in the international division of labor,this paper selects panel data of 18 manufacturingsub-sectors in China's manufacturing industry from 2000 to 2014,and empirical research shows that the improvement of industry factor endowment and the increase of industry R&D intensity The expansion of industrial output value and the increase in the volume of trade in the industry will help to improve the division of labor in the global value chain of China's manufacturing industry.The increase in the import volume of intermediate products in the industry and the higher degree of openness of the industry will reduce the position of China's manufacturing industry in the global value chain division.At the same time,18 manufacturing sub-sectors will be further classified into three major technical categories.The empirical results show that There are differences in the impact of various explanatory variables on China's low-tech,low-and medium-tech,high-tech manufacturing industries.Based on the above analysis,this paper proposes five policy recommendations for the practical improvement of the global value chain of China's manufacturing industry,with a view to providing some reference and reference for the development of China's manufacturing enterprises.
