China's manufacturing industry ranks first in the world in terms of its size, but in the international division of labor, most of the work is done at the low end of the value chain. The technology content is relatively low and the substitutability is high, which is not conducive to the healthy development of China's manufacturing industry in the long run.As an industry closely linked to the manufacturing industry, the service industry has broad prospects for development in China. In 2004-2017,the actual use of foreign capital in China's service industry increased from 140.5 billion to dollars to 889.8 billion US dollars. In 2011,it overtook manufacturing FDI and became the industry with the largest foreign investment. In view of this,it is a wise choice to promote the development of manufacturing industry by attracting the entry of service industry FDI under the background of the decline of foreign investment in manufacturing industry. Therefore, from the perspective of increasing and controlling capabilities of manufacturing industry in the global value chain, this paper analyses the impact of service industry FDI on the international division of labor status of manufacturing industry in China,It is of great significance to improve the division of labor in the global value chain of China's manufacturing industry. The main research contents of this paper include: First, the main research background, research significance, related literature review at home and abroad, research methods and innovations and deficiencies. The second is to define the concept of service industry FDI and international division of labor, and expound the relevant theoretical progress of service industry FDI and international division of labor. The third is to explore the development scale, industry structure and existing problems of China's service industry FDI,and describe the development of China's manufacturing industry and the status of international division of labor. The fourth is to analyze the impact mechanism of service industry FDI on the status of manufacturing international division of labor. The fifth is to empirically analyze the impact of service industry FDI on China's manufacturing industry's international division of labor by selecting empirical models and related variables. Finally, the conclusions and policy recommendations of this paper. The conclusions of this study are as follows: First,China's service industry FDI has surpassed manufacturing FDI and has become the industry that attracts the most foreign investment.Secondly, the calculation of the status of division of labor in China's manufacturing industry shows that the way in which China's manufacturing industry obtains added value in the value chain is still dominated by low-tech manufacturing, and the ability of high-and medium-high-tech manufacturing to control the value chain is still insufficient.Thirdly, the service industry FDI has played a good role in promoting the improvement of the international division of labor in the manufacturing industry.Among them, the promotion of high-and medium-high-tech ? low-tech manufacturing is most obvious.Fourthly, the deepening of the degree of openness has increased the international division of labor of China's high-and medium-high-tech manufacturing industries, and has a negative impact on low-tech manufacturing. The inefficiency of R&D input and output in our country leads to that R&D does not significantly improve the division of labor in manufacturing industry.
