With the development of Chinese economy and the change of population policy,China has changed from a demographic dividend country to a country with an increasing ageing trend.Coupled with the advantages of low-cost labor in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and India,Chinese textile and garment industry has been influenced in the international supermarket.The intensified competition in the industry has made the textile and garment industry face the pressure of transformation and upgrade.At first,This thesis introduces related concepts and theories.Then it analyzes the development status of Chinese textile and garment industry from the whole industry chain of textile and garment industry.It analyzes midstream clothing processing industry by using the SCP of Industrial organization theory.It also analyzes the influencing factors of transformation and upgrade based on global value chain.DEA model and multiple linear regression are chosen to quantitatively analyze the influencing factors of the transformation and upgrade of China.The conclusions are as follows.Firstly,Chinese textile and garment industry is still at the low value-added end of the global value chain.China does not has the advantages of the upstream,including planting cotton.However,the abilities of a few companies to technology and brand building are continues to increase.Secondly,the innovation efficiency of Chinese textile and garment industry is generally low.This thesis uses DEA innovation efficiency evaluation model to evaluate the efficiency of Chinese quartile industry.And it is found that traditional manufacturing innovations related to the textile industry are less efficient.Thirdly,brand building and technological innovation can have a significant impact on business performance growth.By using multiple linear regression to creatively analyze factors affecting business performance,it is found that brand building capabilities,technological innovation capabilities and manufacturing capabilities have a significant impact on business performance.However,technological innovation and brand building capabilities have a broader impact on corporate performance.Finally,based on the theoretical research,current situation analysis and empirical results we get three paths for the transformation and upgrading of Chinese textile and garment industry.Firstly,Chinese textile and garment enterprises need to enhance research and development awareness and improve competitiveness of products.Secondly,Chinese textile and garment enterprises need to build own brand and pay attention to develop domestic and emerging markets.Thirdly,Chinese textile and garment enterprises need to transfer production base and upgrade themselves in the value chain.
