After entering the 21 st century, science and technology developed at an unprecedented speed, the trend of production and capital internationalization continued to strengthen, trade barriers gradually decreased, and the development of economic globalization ushered in a new upsurge. The textile and garment industry has also gradually transitioned to the division of labor in the global value chain, and has become an important part of the international trade system. The development of the textile and garment industry has a long history of development. As the world's largest exporter of textile and apparel products,China's textile and garment industry has made tremendous contributions to achieving sustainable economic development. However,China's textile and garment industry still faces the problems of single export structure and low added value of export products. Therefore,it has fallen into the low side of the global value chain, which has limited the upgrading of China's textile and garment industry to a certain extent, even affect economic sustainable development. This paper discusses the influencing factors and upgrading paths of the global value chain upgrade of China's textile and garment industry from global value chain.Firstly,it analyzes the development status of China's textile and garment industry and points out the opportunities and challenges. The export technology complexity index of textile and garment industry in 14 countries including China determines the global value of countries. The status in the chain found that China is in the middle and lower position in the global value chain of the textile and garment industry, facing the problems of low added value and structural imbalance of export products;and then building an expanded ‘diamond model' based on the classic industrial competitiveness model. Then it analyses of the four basic elements(production factors, demand conditions, industrial systems and corporate strategy)and the impact of three auxiliary factors(opportunities, government and international)on the upgrading of the global value chain of the industry. Then it takes Youngor as an example, concludes that technology research and development, personnel training, industrial system construction, brand strategy, structure management,multi-industry development make Youngor achieve the upgrade in the global value chain. Finally, the paper makes conclusions, and suggest some ideas in light of the upgrade of current China's textile and garment industry. The representative of the traditional manufacturing industry--the textile and garment industry as the research object, explores the path of upgrading its global value chain, enrich the research in the field of global value chain, and also have a great reference value for the modernization transformation and upgrading of textile and garment enterprises.
