With the rapid development of e-commerce in China, the demand for social logistics is growing rapidly. In order to meet the demand, some e-commerce companies have a large number of distribution centers throughout the country. In the labor-intensive distribution centers, the cost of picking operation accounts for more than 50% of the total operating cost.Research shows that e-commerce enterprises self-operated distribution centers store products of varying weight, price and vulnerability. Some of these products have a weight difference of 200 times, and the price difference is more than 100 times.Different materials of the products also cause different damage risks.During the order picking process, once the high-priced products are damaged, the cost is up to 100 times that of low-priced products. Therefore, the reasonable arrangement of the picking path according to the attributes of the goods have a significant impact on the handling cost and the risk of damage to the cargo. In order to reduce the operating cost in the distribution center, this paper takes the manual picking operation in distribution center as the research object. An order picking path optimization model that comprehensively considers the cargo damage and handling cost is proposed to reduce the risk of damage to high-priced cargo and the handing cost by reducing the picking distance of carrying high value fragile or heavy cargo without increasing fixed cost such as facilities and equipments in distribution centers. The main research contents are as follows:(1)First,the author analyzes the current research status at home and abroad and find that the current research focuses on the two directions: picking strategy and related intelligent algorithms and the goal of optimizing the picking path is mostly the shortest path without consideration of factors such as the risk of damage and weight of the cargo.By analyzing the cost structure of a distribution center,it is concluded that reducing the cost of picking operations is the key to reducing the operating cost of distribution centers.Further,it is proposed to reduce the cargo damage and handling cost by optimizing the picking path.(2)An order picking routing optimization model consigering cargo damage and handling cost is constructed. The model base on the TSP model and take the picking order as a decision variable, aiming at the cargo damage and handling cost. The cost of cargo damage is determined by its vulnerability value, picking distance, and cargo damage risk factor. The handling cost is determined by the work and cost conversion factor during the picking process.(3)Model solving and case analysis.By analyzing the characteristics of the model,a genetic algorithm is proposed to solve the problem and the corresponding genetic operators are designed. Finally, the author take a typical two-zone warehouse as an example and program with MATLAB.By analyzing the distribution of the weight and vulnerability value of the cargo in the optimal solution, the validity of the model is validated. At the same time, the stability of the model and the calculation speed of the algorithm are also analyzed.Further, sensitivity analysis was performed on genetic parameters. The result shows that when there is less cargo to pick(n? 30),changes in genetic parameters have little effect on the optimal solution. And when there is a lot of cargo to pick(n? 50),the change of genetic parameters has a strong effect on the optimal solution.
