Urban Agglomeration is a spatial form of population and economic agglomeration, the main body of the country's new urbanization, and the core area of the national economic development strategy. The Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration is one of the nurturing urban agglomerations identified by the National 13 th Five-Year Plan.It is one of the key development areas and national energy and mineral resources bases in the National Main Functional Area Plan, and is also the national urbanization strategy, and is one of the important areas in the pattern. However, there are currently problems such as the overall low population density and weak urban linkages within the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration. To this end,it is necessary to optimize the population and economic spatial pattern of the urban aggravated urban agglomeration, promote the coordinated agglomeration of population and economy, and promote the development of a stable core-peripheral structure. Finally, the population and economic spatial pattern of the urban area of The HohhotBaotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration is optimized. This paper takes the population and economic spatial pattern of the HohhotBaotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration as the research object, and considers the spatial location and spatial connection of population distribution and economic activity on the basis of combing relevant research literatures and related theories at home and abroad.Firstly, the gravity center analysis method, the spatial Gini coefficient, the standard deviation ellipse and the geographical concentration method are used to measure the population and economic space coordination of the overall urban and county populations of the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration. Then, considering the spatial and temporal heterogeneity, the spatial and temporal geographical weighted regression model is used to analyze the influencing factors of the population and economic coordination of the urban and rural areas. Finally, the modified gravitational model and the social network analysis method are used to analyze the networked spatial structure of the population and economy of the HohhotBaotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration. The results show that from 2000 to 2016,the population and economic spatial pattern of the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration tends to be spatially coordinated, and the densely populated areas with population distribution and economic agglomeration have certain temporal and spatial stability; The number of factors that affect the economic agglomeration is in order of market economy development, capital market development, education level, medical level improvement, industrial structure optimization and upgrading, and promotion of government role intensity; There is a subsidence area with the networked spatial structure of the economy.Hangjin,Etuoke,Etuokeqian and Dingbian County of Ordos City have been separated from the networked space structure, but they play a key role in the network structure. The nodes also have obvious time and space stability, and the widening of the gap in the economic development of the county market can make the network connection more closely, and the widening of the education level gap has the opposite effect.According to the above research results, this paper proposes the following suggestions for optimizing the population and economic spatial pattern of the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration: rationalizing the interrelationship of existing regional planning;focusing on promoting the development of market economy;steadily promoting the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure;promoting the equalization of public services.Enhance external collaboration capabilities.
