Manufacturing industry is the pillar industry of national economic development. The German government proposed Industry 4.0 in the "National Industrial Strategy 2030: Strategic guidelines for a German and European industrial policy",and the US Industrial Internet proposed three industrializations based on secondary industrialization."Made in China 2025" proposed to realize China's manufacturing powerhouse plan through three stages of development. With the introduction of the Internet of Things and services, the manufacturing industry is welcoming the fourth industrial revolution. The contents of manufacturing service include R&D investment, information transmission and other service activities.By increasing the degree of specialization and deepening and refining the division of labor, reducing transaction costs, technology spillovers, and economies of scale, the four major mechanisms have an impact on manufacturing exports. This paper studies the mechanism of servitization and analyzes the impact of servitization on manufacturing exports. This paper selects the export data of 14 manufacturing industries in 19 major trading countries from 2000 to 2014,uses the trade gravity model and uses the WIOD input-output table data to calculate servitization level of manufacturing industries to explore the impact of manufacturing industries exports. To further explore the mechanism of servitization in exports, this study analyzes the impact of four types of servitization on manufacturing exports.,including scientific and technical activities, financial and insurance activities, trandportation and atorage activities, information and communication activities. The empirical results show that:(1)In the eight manufacturing industries, such as manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, the servitization of exporting countries has a positive impact on exports;in three industries, such as manufacture of electrical equipment, servitization has a negative impact;in the three industries, such as manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers,the impact of servitization is not significant.(2)Scientific and technical activities and information and communication activities have a positive impact on the majority of manufacturing exports.Financial and insurance activities and transportation and atorage activities have a negative impact on most manufacturing exports. This study fills the gap of the mechanism of servitization, divides service activities, and empirically confirms the impact of servitization on manufacturing exports. The research results show that in the process of manufacturing transformation and upgrading, the investment in service activities must be targeted. We must focus on scientific and technical activities and information and communication activities, improve production efficiency, establish a sound marketing system.
