Research On OPM3 Application On Project Management Of It Startups

Project management is an important activity form for IT startups,especially for intelligent hardware startups.The level of project management will directly affect the quality of final products and services,which is related to the foundation of the survival and development of start-up enterprises.How to improve the project management and organization management capabilities? More and more enterprise are looking for the answers.Organizational project management maturity model(OPM3)is a new concept in the field of project management,which allows project managers to understand the organization's strengths and weaknesses in project management,to provide decision-makers with data support.At the same time OPM3 provides a continuous progress to improve capabilities of project management.Studying the organizational-level project management maturity model and applying this model to the intelligent hardware startups is just to help this type of enterprise to improve the overall organization management level and the success rate of the project implementation.It is also the best solution to the above question.At present,there are a lot of theories about the organizational-level project maturity model,but there are few actual application cases for specific industries.Moreover,the complicated organizational-level project management maturity model requires high project management ability.Therefore,this thesis makes an in-depth study on intelligent hardware startups,analyzes the project management characteristics of this type of enterprise,and compares the common organizational-level project maturity model,ultimately chooses OPM3 for self-examination and improvement of project management capabilities.The author puts forward the idea of simplifying OPM3 and quantifying its index,as well as runs the first operation basing on the simplified OPM3 model.By applying the simplified OPM3 model,this thesis provides a simple and effective project management capability maturity evaluation method and a continuous improvement method for intelligent hardware startups.
