In the past,the research on leadership-member exchange was mainly based on social exchange theory and emotional event theory.This kind of research mainly regards the interaction between leading members as the emotional communication between individual organizations.The research and theoretical developments in recent years show that the leadership-member exchange no longer only represents the intimacy of superiors and employees,but also symbolizes the organizational resources and organizational status of subordinates.Therefore,this paper explores the mechanism of its role in subordinate behavior from the perspective of the leadership membership exchange,and this paper based on the theory of resource conservation.Specifically,when the members of the organization perceive the difference in the degree of intimacy between themselves and the leaders in the organization,due to the instability of the individual perception and the individual emotions,the individuals who perceive the exchange of high leadership members will present an insecure sense of organization,this sense of insecurity encourages individuals to create a sense of pressure to maintain their current organizational status,thereby creating protective behavior.Some scholars have shown that individuals will produce self-image protection behavior for high-quality leadership members exchange,and the research in this paper believes that high-level leadership member exchanges are derived from members' excellent work performance and strong competency.The sense of pressure to maintain the relationship of existing leadership members will naturally lead to better,more effective and more loyal behaviors of individual performance,namely the exemplary behavior studied in this paper.In this study,questionnaire survey was the main research method.Employees in the organization were selected as research subjects.A total of 237 questionnaires were distributed and 210 valid questionnaires were collected.Based on the effective data,firstly,the relative leadership-member exchange questionnaire is determined,make sure that the relative leadership-member exchange questionnaire suitable for the research topic and research scenario.Then,the analysis of the relationship between the relative leadership-member exchange and employee exemplification behavior.And the influence of regulatory effect of the competitiveness climate on the relationship between the two;Finally,the multi-layer linear model is used to analyze the role of the reputation maintenance concern,which plays a part of mediating role on therelationship between the two.The research results are as follows:(a)Select the relative leadership-member exchange questionnaire on the subjective perception level.(b)Relative leadership-member exchange is positively related to exemplification behavior.(c)The competitiveness climate plays a regulatory role in the relationship between relative leadership-member exchange and reputation maintenance concern.The higher the competitiveness climate,the stronger the positive correlation between relative leadership-member exchange and reputation maintenance concern.(d)Reputation maintenance concern plays a mediating role in the relationship between the relative leadership-member exchange and the exemplification behavior.The stronger the concern to maintain reputation,the higher the positive correlation between the leadership-member exchange and exemplification behavior.The results of this study also have reference value for business management.In terms of enterprise management,the leadership's favor for subordinates will encourage employees to produce exemplary behaviors,which can improve employee productivity,team loyalty,etc.,but the response of the members of the organization is not based on reward,but is saved by their own resources.this provides a basis and advice for the team to fully understand the employee's work psychology and develop reasonable management methods.
