With the gradual advancement of urbanization in China,the significant reduction of the number of migrant workers in the construction industry and the acceleration of aging have become a huge challenge for the construction industry.According to the 2013 National Survey Report on Migrant Workers released by the National Bureau of Statistics,29.5% of the older generation of migrant workers are engaged in the construction industry,26.5% are engaged in manufacturing,and 39% of the new generation of migrant workers are engaged in manufacturing industry.14.5% engaged in the construction industry.The proportion of new generation of migrant workers engaged in the construction industry has fallen sharply,less than half of the older generation of migrant workers,and the contradiction between labor supply and demand has intensified.The intergenerational change of migrant workers has become an urgent problem to be solved.However,through the analysis of relevant literatures,most scholars focus on the analysis of migrant workers' collectives or single-generation migrant workers.There is a lack of comparative research,and policy recommendations are mostly based on research,lacking a combing analysis of past policies.In this context,in order to solve the appeals and pain points of the new generation of migrant workers and the older generation of migrant workers,clarify the coverage and omissions of policy protection,thereby effectively attracting the new strength of migrant workers and promoting the stable and coordinated development of the construction industry.In this view,this paper according to the scientific research general paradigm including “investigation-theory-empirical-application" carried out the relevant research work from the following five aspects.(1)In-depth study of existing research theories and current status,and explore research directions and space.The research perspective of this paper is mainly to analyze the differences in job satisfaction and influencing factors between the new generation and the older generation of migrant workers,and to find corresponding policy guarantees and suggestions for improvement.(2)Using the literature analysis method and the ISM(interpretation structure model)system to construct the system of factors affecting the job satisfaction of migrant workers.(3)According to the influencing factors system,the questionnaire was developed and the questionnaire survey was conducted.The orderly logistic regression method was used to establish the job satisfaction and its influencing factors model of the new generation and the older generation of the construction industry,and the intergenerational difference analysis was carried out.(4)Conduct statistical description analysis and text mining on existing policies,and analyze the characteristics and omissions of existing policies.(5)Combining multiple regression models and policy text mining analysis results,put forward targeted suggestions from the perspective of job satisfaction protection and improvement.Through the research,the following conclusions are found:(1)The influence factors of job satisfaction for construction migrant workers is a complex system with multiple impact factors and multi-level hierarchical structure.The influencing factors of job satisfaction of construction migrant workers are mainly caused by the working environment and conditions,work intensity,income status,interpersonal relationship,rights and interests,and career development.(2)The intergenerational change of the migrant workers' group structure in the construction industry is relatively lagging behind.The older generation of migrant workers is still the main force in the development of the construction industry.(3)The job satisfaction and employment intention of migrant workers in the construction industry are not high,and the new generation of migrant workers is significantly lower than the older generation of migrant workers.(4)Interpersonal relationship and protection of rights and interests have a significant impact on the job satisfaction of the new generation and the older generation of migrant workers.At the same time,compared with the older generation of migrant workers,the new generation of migrant workers has weakened their economic orientation,and their personal orientation and development orientation have increased.(5)Through policy text mining and statistical description analysis,it is found that the following problems exist in the application of existing policies: 1)The appeals and pain points of intergenerational differences are not considered fully,and policy functions are not specific.2)Policy tools choosed is dysfunctional and multi-guided.3)The lack of collaboration in the publishing organization makes it difficult to implement policy coordination.In view of these problems,combined with the characteristics of intergenerational differences among migrant workers in the construction industry,this paper gives corresponding suggestions from the perspective of job satisfaction improvement measures and safeguard measures,and integrated the optimization to form the policy suggestion matrix,ensuring that the all valuable clues can be found.
