Research On Corn Income Insurance In Henan Province

Corn is one of the main food of urban and rural residents in henan province,as the main grain crop in henan province,the change of yield and price has great influence on farmers' income.All the time,the government has focused on preventing the risk of corn production and has introduced a number of insurance products to protect corn farmers.However,the traditional agricultural production insurance coverage is low,which cannot meet the needs of agricultural marketization,scale and modernization.In recent years,the insurance company also develops various crop price insurance products,which is the inevitable advance of agricultural insurance with the development of practice,and also the demand of agricultural policy development.However,for agricultural commodities,price insurance has serious systemic risk,and it is difficult to become the dominant product.Income insurance may be the dominant form of future agricultural insurance products,it can become an important means to reform the pricing mechanism of agricultural products in China,and it will become an important way to realize the national macro and micro agricultural policy goals.This paper mainly focuses on whether henan province has the conditions for carrying out corn income insurance and how to carry out the corn income insurance.For the first question,this paper demonstrates the necessity and feasibility of the development of corn income insurance in henan province from several aspects such as the current situation of agricultural insurance development in henan province,the needs of farmers and abundant maize yield and price data;For the question of how to carry out the corn income insurance,this paper summarizes the development and main insurance products of American agricultural income insurance.Based on the successful experience of American agricultural income insurance,the product design of corn income insurance in henan province was carried out from six points of insurance subject,insurance period,insurance amount,insurance rate,insurance liability and compensation processing.Finally,the paper puts forward some countermeasures to promote the development of corn income insurance in henan province.
