In recent years,China's insurance industry has developed rapidly and its scale has been expanding.By the end of 2017,the original premium income of insurance companies has reached 365.8101 billion yuan,an increase of 18.16 percent over the same period last year. For health insurance, there are two main reasons for its rapid development.First of all,the rapid development of our economy has improved people's lives, and residents' demands for health have increased. Therefore, premium income has been increased correspondingly, and health insurance has been further developed. In addition, the CPC central committee and the state council issued the opinion on deepening the reform of the medical and health system in 2009,and proposed to speed up the establishment and improvement of the multilevel medical security system, which covers both urban and rural residents and includes commercial health insurance, primary medical insurances, other supplementary medical insurances and assistance.Subsequently, the government has issued various policies to encourage the development of health insurance, which provides a favorable policy environment for the development of health insurance. In recent years, health insurance has developed rapidly, but it is far from that of developed countries in insurance penetration and density, and there is still a huge room to improve. With the popularity of the Internet, the demands of customers present a variety of characteristics. So,the traditional health insurance is insufficient to meet the needs of customers, and its development gets some stuncked. With the launch of the “Internet+” action plan, the insurance institutions are expected to break through the limitations by using information technologies such as Internet of things, big data and cloud computing.Health insurance is an important embodiment of the insurance industry's risk protection and rik management function. It's closely related to the health care system of a country and the living standards of a country's residents. Therefore,it is of certain significance to study the impact of “Internet+” on health insurance and propose suggestions to promote the development of health insurance. This paper expounds the theory of “Internet+” and health insurance, and studies the impact of “Internet+” on health insurnce through the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Finally, this paper puts forward some suggestions based on the results of the analysis to promote the development of health insurance. As for the qualitative analysis, this paper mainly analyses the opportunities and challenges brought by “Internet+” to traditional health insurance. In the part of the empirical observation, this paper takes the health insurance premium income as an explanatory variable, the “Internet+” development index as the core variable.Meanwhile, this paper takes the per capital spending on health care, elderly dependency ratio and the consumer price index growth rate as the control variables, explaining its impact on the development of health insurance. In order to measure the core explanatory variable, this article slects the number of sites, the page number and the number of Internet users as variables, then constructs the “Internet+” development index by using the principal components analysis to measure the level of Internet development.Based on the data of 31 provinces and municipalities from 2006 to 2016,this paper establishs the econometric model, and empirically studies the quantitative relation between the health insurance premium income and the level of “Internet+” development. The results of empirical analysis show that the “Internet+” development level is significantly affecting the premium income of health insurance. In addition, the elderly dependency ratio and per capita spending on health care has significant positive effect on the health insurance premium income, while the CPI growth rate is significantly negative effects on the health insurance premium income. It is consistent with the theoretical analysis of this article.Based on the results of qualitative analysis and empirical analysis, this paper suggests that we should integrate the “Internet+” and health insurance, and promote the development of health insurance through the technological advantages of the Internet. This paper suggests promote the development of health insurance by improving operation mode, risk control, product design and health management with the advantages of “Internet+”.
