Abstract/Summary:
In the economic globalization environment, modern logistics becomes important connection with world economy. However, during practical management process, improvement is always restricted to certain part of whole supply chain due to lack of whole supply chain management concept. It leads to unsatisfactory result of total logistic cost control. The article is based on the background of North America line logistics & transportation scheme for P Company Gantry healthcare product.Through improvement of this logistics & transportation scheme based on research result, the logistics cost could be reduced and the enterprise competitiveness could be enhanced.Firstly,P Company overview as well as scheme background have be reviewed.Fishbone Diagram has been drawn after reviewing operation process and total logistics cost structure for the transportation scheme.Afterwards, packaging and transportation were selected as key improvement research elements since they affected the cost control most.Secondly, through ISTA environment-simulated test,it has been proved that the new standardized container could effectively protect the products which could achieve the targets of reducing the cost and improving efficiency.Last but not least, evaluation index in the evaluation template was determined through questionnaire method and supplier evaluation weight was set up through analytic hierarchy process.Through this supplier evaluation system, strategic suppliers were selected in order to enhance supplier management and reduce logistics cost.Through the research, the improved scheme could effectively reduce the total cost of logistics.According to statistics, the total cost of logistics was reduced from 10,433,824 CNY to 6,798,198 CNY.The reduction rate reached 35%.
