The further release of consumer demand has accelerated the pace of transformationand upgrading of manufacturing enterprises at home and abroad.Under the new market environment,the contradiction between product homogeneity and customers pursuing differentiated products becomes more and more prominent.It requires enterprises to realize the research and development of personalized products with the cost and efficiency of large-scale production.The mass customization as a management model has become the focus of academics and enterprise research.The clothing industry is the closest to the public life,so the clothing industry has an advantage in implementing mass customization.However,there are some questions such as the short life cycle of clothing products,poor rules,and changing and unpredictable demand,which bring some difficulties for customization research of products.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the path of clothing customization enterprises' R&D mode.At present,the transformation of clothing enterprises is at a groping stage in our country,and there is a long way to go to implement the mass customization completely.As the starting point of clothing customization,the R&D mode has a direct impact on effect and extent of clothing customization.This paper reviews and summarizes elements of the R&D mode by literature research,and based on Leavitt model analyzes the correlation among the four elements of people,organization,technology and product.In this way,the paper contrasts the R&D mode of "product-centric" clothing non-customized enterprises and "customer-centric" clothing customized enterprises.By comparing and analyzing the two modes,the paper contrasts three paths of the R&D modes of clothing customization enterprises.The path is analyzed from both technical and organizational dimensions: When organizational flexibility meets customers' deep customization demand,we choose the path I;When enterprises have mature large-scale production technology,we choose the path II;When the enterprises development is relatively balanced,we choose the path III.Through the case analysis,the paper proves the path and this path has certain guiding significance for the follow-up development of case enterprises.The contribution of this article is as follows:(1)Based on the Leavitt model,this paper constructs a R&D mode and compares theform of mass production and mass customization.(2)This paper proposes a path of the R&D mode of clothing customization enterprises.Based on the R&D mode of clothing mass customization enterprises,this paper analyzes the differences of the R&D mode in the management model of mass customization and large-scale production,proposes the path of the R&D mode of clothing customization enterprises,and provides some ideas for enterprises which are changing or in urgent need of transformation.
