Comprehensive Popular Science Activities In Popular Science Venues Education Effect Study

In recent years,the number of all kinds of comprehensive science popularization activities in popular science venues has increased rapidly,but the so-called effect of science education mostly comes from the self-talk of venue leaders,lacking of real effective evaluation,which is not conducive to the renewal and improvement of activities.Referring to the previous research theories and practices,combined with the field investigation in the venue,and aiming at the comprehensive science popularization activity of the Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences,"Wonderful Night of the Museum",this study has determined the evaluation system of educational effect which includes three dimensions: knowledge and skills,emotion and interest,attitude and value.It also adopts interview method,observation method and outline.Through the combination of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods,scientific and effective evaluation of educational effect is carried out,and the educational value of the activity is evaluated scientifically and accurately.Based on the evaluation results,reasonable and effective suggestions are put forward for the activity and the evaluation of such activities.Professional evaluation of this activity is of great significance both to the improvement of the activity and to the supplement of the comprehensive evaluation system of popular science activities.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Participants in the event have improved to a certain extent in the number,breadth,depth and understanding of the knowledge involved in the "Wonderful Night of Museum".While improving the understanding of scientific knowledge,the activity also has a good effect in improving practical skills,and participants generally have a higher level of proficiency in the skills acquired in the activities.But there are also some shortcomings,such as fewer opportunities for participants to cooperate and communicate,and the process of the activity is relatively fixed,which can not give participants free space to play,so the activity is still slightly deficient in the promotion of exploratory skills.(2)The vast majority of participants were highly excited,almost without negative emotions during the whole course of the activity,and were able to maintain a strong curiosity,full of interest in the content of the activity,and did not intentionally pay attention to the end time of the activity,indicating that the activity was more meaningful than other popular science activities.(3)The vast majority of participants expressed a very positive attitude towards the value of science and expressed their willingness to engage in scientific work in the future.They were also interested in the content of the activities.They hoped to have a deeper understanding of them in their future study and life.Almost all participants showed a strong willingness to participate in the activities again.But the only shortcoming is that the activity has some shortcomings in meeting participants' selfexpectations.Most participants said that the content of the activity is far from imagination,and the process of operation is too simple.At the same time,the relevant conclusions of the effectiveness evaluation of comprehensive popular science activities are as follows:(1)The comprehensive science popularization activities carried out by venues often have a long process,so the time point of collecting and evaluating data should be dispersed throughout the process of activities.Because there are many activities,it is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of the activities before launching the evaluation,and screen the links in combination with the purpose of evaluation,so as to avoid invalid energy and time.Most of the comprehensive popular science activities are fee-paying activities,which will limit the age of participants.Therefore,the age characteristics of participants in the activities are important issues that need to be considered before launching the evaluation.(2)Before deciding on the evaluation system,we should start with summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of other evaluation systems,and then determine a scientific evaluation system through on-the-spot investigation and follow-up of the activities,combining the characteristics of the activities and the age characteristics of the participants.(3)In the process of data collection,we should adhere to the three principles of comprehensiveness,comprehensiveness and feasibility in order to ensure the scientific objectivity of the collected data.At the same time,in order to ensure the reliability of the data,the evaluator must follow up the activities in the whole process so as to avoid missing important information.(4)As the core of the whole evaluation,the accuracy and scientificity of the evaluation tool will directly affect the follow-up evaluation analysis and summary.Therefore,the evaluation tool must be revised and perfected strictly before it can be used for formal investigation and research.
