Research On The Evaluation Of Core Competitiveness Of Chinese Listed Commercial Banks

For any country,financial industry is the core of the national economy development,while the banking industry is one of the pillar industries in financial industry.As one of the most important financial institutions,commercial banks play an very important role in their financial status and economic status.With the continuous development of banking industry,the scale of commercial banks has gradually expanded,and the provided financial services have grown more and more diversified,moreover,it plays an increasingly important role in the development of the entire national economy.However,the national development situation has changed obviously in the sense that the high-speed development stage has become high-quality development stage,and the banking industry has been suffering the pressure coming from inside and outside of the banking industry,and the core competitiveness of commercial banks has been under restrictions from many aspects.All of these problems require commercial banks to keep pace with the times,and make innovation and creation using their own sources,deepen reform,and enhance the competitiveness of commercial banks continually.If we can not provide effective measures to improve their competition,some serious problems will probably occur and make effects on the sustained and steady development of the banking,financial and even national economies.In order to develop strategies for effectively improving the core competitiveness of listed commercial banks,we analyze the core competitiveness of chinese listed commercial banks and the factors affecting it in this thesis.This thesis contains four chapters and is organized as follows.Chapter 1 introduces the background of the core competitiveness of commercial banks and the research significance,reviews the current research situation in both China and abroad;finally,introduces research methods and research contents of this thesis.In Chapter 2,based on the principles of comprehensiveness,scientificity,accessibility and comparability,and according to the existing literature and related materials,we analyze the influencing factors of the competitiveness of China's listed commercial banks from three aspects,i.e.,resource factor,capability factor and environmental factor.Then we establish the core competitiveness evaluation index system of China's listed commercial banks,and finally construct the initial theoretical model of bank core competitiveness.In Chapter 3,we select 13 A-share listed commercial banks and the relevant indicator data from 2008 to 2017 in their annual reports and the wind database,and use the structural equation model method to conduct empirical analysis.Through the analysis of the core competitiveness of listed commercial banks,the rankings of the various factors of the listed commercial banks in 2017 and the comprehensive scores and rankings of the core competitiveness of 2015-2017 are obtained.The 2017 comprehensive ranking is consistent with that of the industry's authoritative magazine "The Banker" according to the comprehensive scores of commercial banks in 2017.At the same time,the dynamic analysis of the core competitiveness of listed commercial banks in China is carried out,and the changes of listed commercial banks' rankings in three years are observed.In addition,the analyzing results of the factors affecting the core competitiveness of Chinese listed commercial banks show that the measurement of listed commercial bank resource factor and environmental factor have the greatest impacts on the core competitiveness of Chinese listed commercial banks.In Chapter 4,according to the results of empirical analysis,we provide some corresponding suggestions and countermeasures for improving the core competitiveness of listed commercial banks in China.In a word,in this thesis,some conclusions and suggestions for improving the core competitiveness of China's listed commercial banks are obtained by analyzing the core competitiveness of China's listed commercial banks and the factors affecting it.
