Input Servitization And Manufacturing Enterprise Total Factor Productivity:Theoretical Analysis And Empirical Test

Throughout the development of the global economy,the service economy has undoubtedly become a new driving force for the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.Manufacturing servitization has become an important trend in global industrial development.China has also issued a series of policy documents that clearly propose to promote the deep integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries,and promote the high-quality development of manufacturing.In the new normal period,which emphasizes that economic development needs to improve quality and efficiency,and industrial development needs to be optimized and upgraded,the trend of input servitization will continue to develop.From the perspective of manufacturing service input,discusses the impact of it on the total factor productivity of enterprises,which has important practical significance for promoting the input servitization strategy of manufacturing industry and optimizing the development mode of manufacturing industry.This paper mainly studies the relationship between input servitization and total factor productivity of manufacturing enterprises.Firstly,the input-output method is used to measure the level of input servitization,and the OLS,FE,OP,and LP methods are used to measure the total factor productivity of enterprises.Based on the 2005-2012 China Industrial Enterprise Database and the WIOD database,an empirical study was conducted.The results show that input servitization has a positive impact on the total factor productivity of enterprises.By distinguishing the heterogeneity of enterprises,it is found that the effect of input servitization on the promotion of state-owned enterprises is weak,and the promotion effect on private enterprises is significant,but it has a restraining effect on foreign-funded enterprises;Compared with non-export enterprises,input service has significant effect on total factor productivity of export enterprises;Input servitization can promote the improvement of total factor productivity of capital-intensive and technology-intensive enterprises,but weak to labor-intensive enterprises.This indicates that in the process of promoting the integration of manufacturing and service industries,it is necessary to promote the manufacturing industry servitization strategy in a targeted manner.Further,this paper creatively proposes the possible transmission mechanism of input serviceization to promote the total factor productivity of enterprises:innovation promotion effect and export promotion effect,and constructing an intermediary model to empirically verify the existence of these two effects.Through deep exploration of its possible impact path,in order to maximize the contribution of manufacturing service to the total factor productivity.Finally,the paper further analyzes whether there is a nonlinear relationship between the input servitization and the total factor productivity of manufacturing enterprises,and empirically shows that the two are "inverted U-type" relationships.During the research period of this paper,China's input servitization level is still in the "inverted U-shaped" climbing period.The manufacturing industry should further deepen the awareness of input servitization and rational layout servitization strategy,strengthen the positive role of promoting service-oriented enterprise total factor productivity.
