Gansu Province is an important ecological security barrier area in China,which has extremely fragile ecological environment.Besides,its economic development is lagging behind in our country,and the contradiction between accelerating economic development and environmental protection is prominent.Industry is the support of economic development.Therefore,it is very important for promoting the industrial ecology in Gansu Province.It also can alleviate the contradiction between the economy and the environment,improve the utilization efficiency of resources,and advance the high-quality development of economic transformation.In this paper,the current situation,the space-time evolvement and the driving factors of the industrial ecology in Gansu Province are explored taking the industrial ecology as the research object.First,the current situation and problems of industrial ecology in Gansu Province are analyzed,it provides practical support for the measurement of the industrial ecology.In addition,the evaluation index system is constructed from two dimensions: industrial system and ecological environment system.Selecting fourteen regions in Gansu Province as the object,the entropy method and the coupling coordination model are used to measure the industrial ecology level and the coordination degree of industry ecological environment system of these regions from 2004 to 2017.Meanwhile,the temporal evolution and spatial difference characteristics of the industrial ecology level and the coordination degree of the industrial ecology environment system are discussed.Last,the driving factors of industrial ecology are measured by using the spatial Dubin panel model,and the effect of these driving factors on industrial ecology and spatial spillover are explained.The result of this research shows that:(1)From the perspective of time-series evolution characteristics: Industrial ecology level in Gansu Province from 2004 to 2017 has an obvious stage,and it shows the trend of continuous growth in the fluctuation.Compared with industrial system,the score of the ecological environment system has a larger improvement.The coordination degree of industrial system and ecological environment system is in the period of imbalance to running-in development,but has not yet entered the period of coordinated development,and the process of industrial ecology is slow.(2)From the perspective of spatial differentiation: The difference of industrial ecology level between different regions in Gansu Province becomes smaller from 2004 to 2017.However,the level of industrial ecology is obviously different from that of east and west,a higher level appears in the west and a lower level happens in the east in terms of spatial distribution.The coordination degree of industrial system and ecological environment system presents the difference between east and west in space.Specifically,the west area shows a good overall coordination degree and obvious agglomeration phenomenon,the coordination types in the central area are interlaced,and the coordination types in the east area are interlaced from the overall low degree to the cross distribution.(3)From the driving factors of industrial ecology: Industrial ecology is the result of the interaction among nature,economy,and society.From the overall effect,economic development,industrial structure,government regulation,environmental regulation,and technology innovation all affect the industrial ecology development to different degrees.From the perspective of indirect effects,the spillover effect of negative space of economic development on industrial ecology is obvious,and the positive space spillover effect of the technological innovation for the industrial ecology is obvious.The remaining factors do not pass the significance test for indirect effects.Based on the above conclusions,the following countermeasures are proposed.Firstly,the relationship between the coordinated development of industrial ecology in the part and the whole,the present and the future should be given overall arrangements,and the development of industrial ecology coordination in different regions should be improved.Secondly,the industrial transformation and upgrading should be promoted,the integrate energy conservation and emission reduction should be intersected into the entire process of industrial development,and the green and ecological industries should be developed.Thirdly,the external institutional environment should be intensified,technology should be innovated and the measures to develop the industrial ecology should be strengthened.
