A Study On The Relationship Between Bricolage And Business Model Innovation Of Start-ups

With the development of Internet technology,business model innovation has gradually replaced product and service innovation as a key factor affecting the survival and development of start-ups,which plays a crucial role in building competitive advantage for enterprises.Many start-ups rely on the new business model to stand firmly in the market and build competitive advantage,which has aroused the attention of academic circles on business model innovation.Any innovation activity is inseparable from the two basic elements of resources and capabilities,but the start-ups are facing the dilemma of resource shortage.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore how to carry out business model innovation under the condition of resource shortage for their survival and development in the fierce competition.Based on the resource-based theory and dynamic capability theory,this paper explores how the bricolage of start-ups affects their business model innovation,and reveals the intermediary role of dynamic capability in it.Through literature reading,this paper summarizes the resource-based theory and dynamic capability theory,defines the variables such as bricolage,dynamic capability and business model innovation,and combs the existing relevant research.On this basis,this paper constructs a theoretical model of "bricolage-dynamic capability-business model innovation".Based on the existing mature scale,a questionnaire is designed,which mainly involves three variables: bricolage,dynamic capability(including perception capability,integration capability and reconstruction capability),business model innovation and control variables.The questionnaire is aimed at start-up enterprises.By sending questionnaires to senior managers of start-ups,258 valid questionnaires are collected.SPSS21.0 and AMOS17.0 are used for descriptive statistical analysis and empirical analysis to test the hypothesis.The results show that: bricolage has a positive impact on business model innovation;bricolage has a positive impact on the perception capability,integration capability and reconstruction capability of start-ups;perception capability,integration capability and reconstruction capability can promote business model innovation of start-ups;perception capability,integration capability and reconstruction capability play an intermediary role in the impact of bricolage on business model innovation.In theory,this paper enriches the relevant research of business modelinnovation,and provides theoretical guidance for the survival and development of start-ups in the fierce competition in practice.
