Entrepreneurial Resources, Dynamic Capabilities And Start-up Performance

Today, knowledge has become the main factor to boost the innovation of technology, the development of production as well as the whole society. Actually, high-tech is the strong impetus of knowledge economy. Start-up is an important period to high-tech enterprises’ development, it relates to whether the enterprise can continue to survive and develop in the fierce market competition. Entrepreneurial resources and dynamic capabilities were crucial to improve start-up performance in a rapidly changing market, especially the start-up high-tech enterprises. This paper explored the relationship between entrepreneurial resources, dynamic capabilities and start-up performance. It had theoretical and practical significance.Based on the past relevant theories, we proposed hypotheses about the relationship between entrepreneurial resources, dynamic capabilities and start-up performance, built the theoretical model of entrepreneurial resources, dynamic capabilities and start-up performance. Then we carried out questionnaire survey in high-tech start-up enterprise from Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, xi’an, Qingdao, Shenyang and other places of China.We got 147 valid copies of survey questionnaire. We used statistical software SPSS 17.0 and AMOS 17.0 for quantitative data analysis, with structural equation model demonstrated that dynamic capabilities mediated between entrepreneurial resources and performance.The empirical results show that entrepreneur resources had significant positive effects on the willingness for external partners to cooperate; entrepreneur resources had significant positive effects on dynamic capabilities; dynamic capability had a significant positive effect on start-up performance; the willingness for external partners to cooperate had no significant positive effects on dynamic capabilities. Most of the hypotheses had been effectively proved by the empirical results. We focused on enhancing comprehension of start-up dynamic capabilities, thus improving the resource-based view in high-tech start-ups.
