Research On The Mechanism Of Entrepreneurial Bricolage To New Venture Performance

In recent years,entrepreneurship has become a new hotspot in economy and society field of the world,and is regarded as a new power source to promote economic and social development.Therefore,many countries consider entrepreneurship as an important measure to promote employment,reduce unemployment and promote economic development.In our country,entrepreneurship has been promoted to the national strategic level and become a new engine of China's economy.With the government's vigorous promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship activities,the whole people set off a wave of entrepreneurship,more and more new ventures are established and constantly developing.However,there are congenital defects of "new" and "small" in new ventures.Especially,the environment faced by new ventures is complex and changeable,and mature enterprises have already completed the "deployment of troops" to the market,which leads to the low survival rate of new ventures.Therefore,for new ventures,how to improve performance has become a real problem.For new ventures,resources are the important foundation and carrier to their survival and development.However,the shortage of resources is a normal situation faced by new ventures.Entrepreneurial opportunities are fleeting and time is pressing,bricolage is often the best choice for start-ups.Entrepreneurial bricolage theory examines the value of existing resources with a new logic,advocates creative piecing up existing resources,taking on the strategy,seizing the fleeting opportunities,realizing the reshaping of resources endowment,which provides the possibility of survival and growth for new enterprises facing resource constraints.Entrepreneurial bricolage can not only effectively improve the current situation of resources scarcity in new ventures,but also bring new competitive advantages to new ventures,thus help to improve the performance of new ventures.Based on this,from the perspective of bricolage,this study will take entrepreneurial bricolage,Which iemphasizes the creative use of resources at hand,as a starting point to explore the path to achieve new venture performance.This study is mainly carried out from the following aspects: First,can start-ups achieve performance improvement through entrepreneurial bricolage? Secondly,how does the entrepreneurial bricolage promote the new ventures performance? Is there a transmission medium between the two variables? Thirdly,is there any contingency factor affecting the mechanism in the process of entrepreneurial bricolage? In order to analyze the above problems deeply,this study constructs a model of entrepreneurial bricolage on new ventures performance,and analysis the internal mechanism between the various variables.Based on entrepreneurship process theory,resource-based theory,dynamic capability theory,destructive innovation theory and contingency theory,this paper analyzes the mechanism of entrepreneurial bricolage on the performance of new ventures from nine provinces,and introduces dynamic capability and business model innovation as intermediary variables,and environment uncertaintyas a moderator,and expanded the research on the formation path of new venture performance.Firstly,this paper defines the connotation and dimension of new venture performance,entrepreneurial bricolage,dynamic capability,business model innovation and environmental uncertainty by reviewing the relevant literature,and probes into the correlative research of each variable,and finds out the relationship among the variables initially;secondly,On the basis of resource-based theory,entrepreneurship process theory and other theories,this paper analyzes the intrinsic mechanism of entrepreneurial bricolage on the performance of start-ups,constructs an integrated model including intermediary variables and moderator variables,and puts forward research hypothesis;thirdly,on the basis of in-depth interviews,pre-investigation and formal investigation,the reliability and validity of the recovered data are tested.Thirty-six hypotheses put forward in this study are tested by experiments,regression analysis,bootstrap analysis and so on.Fourthly,the conclusions are discussed and analyzed in depth,the theoretical contributions and practical implications of this study are discussed,the limitations of this study are analyzed,and the future research is prospected according to the limitations.This study draws the following conclusions: Firstly,it tests that entrepreneurial bricolage has a significant positive effect on new venture performance.Among them,input bricolage,customer bricolage and regulation bricolage all have significant positive effects on the new ventures performance;secondly,it tests the partial intermediary effect of dynamic capabilities.Entrepreneurial bricolage and its three dimensions have a significant positive impact on dynamic capabilities,and dynamic capabilities and their three dimensions have a significant positive impact on new ventures performance.Dynamic capability partially mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial bricolage and new venture performance.Thirdly,it tests the partially mediating role of business model innovation.Entrepreneurial bricolage and its three dimensions have a significant positive impact on business model innovation.Business model innovation and its two dimensions have a significant positive impact on the new ventures performance.Business model innovation partially mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial bricolage and new venture performance.Fourthly,it examines the chain mediation between dynamic capabilities and business model innovation.Dynamic capabilities and their three dimensions have a significant positive impact on business model innovation.Dynamic capability and business model innovation play a chain mediating role between entrepreneurial bricolage and new venture performance.Fifthly,this study examines the positive moderating role of environmental uncertainty.Environmental uncertainty has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between dynamic capability and new ventures performance.Among them,environmental dynamic dimension and environmental hostility dimension have a significant positive moderating effect,while environmental complexity has no significant moderating effect.At the same time,environmental uncertainty and its dimensions have a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between business model innovation and new venture performance.Sixthly,the moderating mediating effect is tested.The results show that environmental uncertainty positively moderates the indirect effect of entrepreneurial bricolage on the new venture performance through dynamic capabilities and business model innovation.This study enriches the research on the relationship between entrepreneurial bricolage and t new venture performance.Firstly,this study uses quantitative methods to analyze the impact of entrepreneurial bricolage on the new ventures performance,enriches the empirical study of entrepreneurial bricolage,makes up for the deficiencies of the existing literature on the empirical study of entrepreneurial bricolage,and lays an important foundation for the future research of entrepreneurial bricolage;secondly,From the perspective of bricolage,this study explores new ideas of formation mechanism of new ventures performance,expands the path to achieve the new ventures performance,makes up for the lack of attention to the concept of entrepreneurial bricolage in existing research,and provides new ideas for the study of the new ventures performance;third,this study constructs an integrated model of the mechanism of entrepreneurial bricolage to new ventures performance,analyzes in-depth the internal function mechanism of entrepreneurial bricolage to new ventures performance,opens up the "black box" between the two variables.It has made up for the deficiencies of the existing literature.
